Os resultados do presente estudo demonstraram que ambas as formulações apresentaram efeito antinociceptivo em todos os modelos de dor avaliados.

Entretanto, a lidocaína complexada com HP-β-CD apresentou melhor efeito, em termos de duração e magnitude, na segunda fase da resposta à formalina e na hiperalgesia térmica induzida pela carragenina e associada à constrição do nervo infraorbital. Nossos dados sugerem que a lidocaína pode representar uma droga útil para tratamento da dor de origem orofacial, especialmente se modificações na sua molécula resultarem em um perfil farmacocinético mais favorável.
