Plug the power connector on the underside of the base and the other end of the cable into an electrical outlet. Place the cover back on the handset by pushing it up until it closes completely. Remove the protective film from the screen, place the handset on the stand to fully charge the batteries.
For optimal battery charging, leave the handset on the base for at least 6 hours between first use. The screen displays information including the name and number of the handset (for example, HANDSET -2 -), date and time. Take your base, remove the SIM card compartment (reference number 2) located on the right side.
Place the compartment unit and card SIM into the housing on the base (reference mark 1). During communication, you can increase or decrease the audio volume of your handset by pressing the key or on the navigator.

You can also set up a three-party conference if the second call is placed from your terminal (depending on your subscription). If you enter the wrong letter, press Delete or C key on the navigator key to delete letter by letter. When the uppercase mode is selected, the symbol is displayed at the top of the screen. EATONI predictive text input assistance For text input assistance, you can activate the EATONI predictive text input assistance.
When you press a key on the numeric keypad, EATONI offers you as the first choice the letter (among all those corresponding to the pressed key) which is statistically most likely to be desired (depending on the previously entered characters). To enable or disable EATONI, press Option on the text input screen and then select Activate Eatoni or Deact. If the letter does not match the letter you want, press repeatedly to change it until you get the letter you want.
When you have finished writing your text message, press Option to select the delivery type. Send +: to send the text message specifying the options (refer to the paragraph Making a send + broadcast, page 25). The letters corresponding to the alphanumeric key on the keyboard are displayed on the upper left side of the screen (in the order that respects successive presses on the .. key).
Enter the number of your recipient just as you do for the simple transmission (see previous section). Once it's saved, you'll be able to fix potential problems and send your message at a later time without having to retype it.
Reading a message
The sender's personal box (page 29) selection menu is only displayed when at least one personal box has been created. Press or on the navigation key until the SMS menu appears, press OK to confirm. The list of messages in the folder is displayed from newest to oldest, and the date and time the message was received is highlighted on the top line.
If no personal box has been created, only the shared box will be displayed on the screen. To return to the list of messages, move to the beginning of the message and press Return. Reply: to write an SMS in response to the received message (the recipient number of the new SMS will be entered automatically).
