The IMVF communication strategy is a central element in the pursuit of the institute's strategic goals. IMVF has also participated as one of the organizers of the "Lisbon Conferences" (currently organized through the Lisbon Club Association).

Overall: Contribute to the reduction of maternal, neonatal and child mortality in Guinea-Bissau and, in particular, to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically: Ensure better access to quality health care for pregnant women and women who have recently given birth (up to 45 days after delivery) and children under 5 years of age in Guinea-Bissau.

The most relevant action in this sector took place in São Tomé and Príncipe, where our actions support the public authorities responsible for education. In recent years, our actions have reached approximately 400 teachers and other education professionals and indirectly reached almost 20,000 students.

Preparation of school administration and management training for school principals and capacity development of training leaders (external technical assistance); Specifically: support to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Communications (MECCC) in key areas of school administration and in defining the structure and content of ongoing and on-the-job training.

High officials and technical staff of district and central services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Communication (MECCC), school managers, secondary education students and teachers. Overall: contribute to improving the quality of secondary education in São Tomé and Príncipe.

Support for the creation of instruments and procedures for monitoring the implementation of plans to improve education; Creation of an intervention plan to improve students' competences in Portuguese language and mathematics - students from 7th to 9th grade (external technical assistance).

SUPPORTING THE CONSOLIDATION OF SECONDARY EDUCATION IN SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE (ACES-STP)

In addition to recalling and putting into practice the knowledge of advanced and on-job training that I acquired during the academic training, this collaboration has allowed me to better understand the educational context in São Tomé and develop compelling technical skills , including the analysis, preparation and organization of administrative documents crucial for the development of the validation process of training actions in this area. These added value to improving my performance at work and thus improving the teaching-learning process in the country.

AND FOOD SECURITY 21 paraveterinarians trained and actively involved in the provision of health care in communities within the framework of "Nô Fia Na Crias". In general: contribute to food and nutrition security in order to achieve food sovereignty in the Cacheu region through the implementation of sustainable poultry and goat production.

Direct: 185 women involved in poultry farming, 96 feed producers, 12 women who are key figures in the sale of chickens, 15 core groups of goat farmers out of a total of 132 goat farmers, 21 paraveterinarians, 96 breeders/.

NÔ FIA NA CRIAS – INTEGRATED COOPERATIVE AND COM- MUNITY SYSTEM FOR POULTRY, GOAT FARMING AND BY-

Overall: contribute to the improvement of the social and economic conditions of the Guinea-Bissau population, especially in the regions of Bafatá, Quinara and Tombali. Specifically: promote the improvement of territorial management in the regions of Bafatá, Quinara and Tombali.

Direct: producer organizations and other key players in value chains and dynamic strategic commercial circles; communities and/or producer organizations that benefit from the renovated and/or constructed facilities and are authorized to manage them sustainably; civil society organizations (CSOs) from the target regions that will benefit from mentoring in project development;. Indirectly: The population of the target regions (352,750 inhabitants), especially women and young people, key players in the regional agricultural sector and involved in the participatory process of preparing the PDAR (public and private).

EU-ACTIVA – INTEGRATED TERRITORIAL COMMUNITY ACTIONS FOR AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT – AXIS 1: TERRITORIAL GOVERNANCE

20 young entrepreneurs; 300 students and 15 teachers from Urok community schools; and 134 members of management bodies in the Urok Community-Based Marine Protected Area (CMPA). Overall: contribute to the sustainable development of the Urok Islands Community-Based Marine Protected Area (CMPA).

Indirectly: local government authorities and regional authorities from Bolama-Bijagós, which will be involved in the participatory management process; and the population of Urok and the archipelago, especially young people.

ETIKAPUN N’HA – UROK, RESILIENCE LAB OF THE BIJAGÓ CULTURE

Beginning of research and preparation of working methodology for the creation of the Shepherd's Path; In general: improving the standard of living of the inhabitants of the island of Maio through solidarity and sustainable tourism.

Collection of information and definition of the strategy to support the producers of toddy (a typical Cape Verdean drink) on the island of Maio; Preparation of the technical details for the establishment of the artisanal canning unit and the fish smoking unit, and the respective training courses;

In general: to contribute to the promotion of critical thinking and active global citizenship practice of citizens with permanent residence in Portugal. Specific: Identification of problems and finding appropriate solutions for ethical and sustainable consumption; developing and strengthening skills for creative and critical thinking about issues of global citizenship; encouraging young people to become active citizens; strengthening the values ​​of solidarity and empathy among young people and admiration for belonging to the European and world community;

SUSTAINABLE TERRITORIES FOR PEACE IN CAQUETÁ

Commencement of the construction of a pulp factory in ETCR Agua Bonita and the training of 10 ex-combatants in the use of this equipment;. In general: to contribute to the consolidation of stable and lasting peace in Colombia by strengthening socio-economic and environmental development in the Amazonian territories in the post-conflict period.

In 2018, the Communication area continued to pursue the IMVF's strategic goals and moved forward in its mission to spread the Institute's action and initiatives, both at the institutional level and in the framework of the implemented projects. The Department of Communications, Image and Events (DCIE) continued to be an important channel for updating the IMVF website and social media; supporting the preparation of graphic and audiovisual material; the production and distribution of external newsletters about the projects and activities implemented by IMVF or its partners; and cooperation in the organization of events and other initiatives, either institutionally or within projects.
