Stage 2&3: Reduction of internal operations time
Objectives and Results:
• Application of the SMED concepts in the production of moulds to the glass industry, aiming to structure and facilitate the continuous improvement process.
• Removing from the setup all the operations that can be externalized: setup time reduction of 60%.
• Reduction of the internal operations time through work standardization: global setup time reduction of 84%.
• Reduction of production costs in 20%.
