The Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa) launches a call for applications for the award of 1 (one) research scholarship for a PhD student, within the research project "Tr@ck-in Public employment services tracking effectiveness in supporting rural NEETs", funded by the EEA and Norway Grants for Youth Employment Fund, (Project reference no. 2020-01-0011), coordinated by Dr. Ana Sofia Ribeiro, from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

4. Applicable legislation and regulations:

5. Work place: Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa.

6. Scientific Guidance: The grant holder will be supervised by PhD Ana Sofia Ribeiro, project coordinator.

7. Duration of the grant: The grant will last for 12 months, possibly renewable up to the limit of the project, as established in Article 6 of the FCT Regulations or the Regulations of the University of Lisbon.

8. Amount of the monthly maintenance allowance and Social Security:

8.1. The monthly maintenance allowance is EUR 1,104.64 (one thousand one hundred and four euros and sixty-four cents), paid monthly by bank transfer.

8.2 The grant holder to be hired may exercise his/her right to social security, through

adherence to the voluntary social security scheme, under the terms foreseen in the Statute of the Research Grant Holder, with ICS-ULisboa assuming the charges resulting from the

contributions foreseen in that Statute.

Eligibility criteria

Applications should be sent by e-mail to the address recrutamentos@ics.ulisboa.pt,

indicating the reference "Concurso de Bolsas de Investigação n.º 12/2022"), otherwise they will not be considered for the competition. 13.2 The applications should be accompanied, under penalty of exclusion, with the following documents, and no document, which should be submitted at the time of the application, may be presented after the deadline for its

submission:

a) Personal Data Form and Declaration of Consent for Communication of the Results via e- mail (see attached form);

b) Detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae;

c) Motivation Letter justifying the interest in the research project's theme and the competences with which you think you can contribute to the project;

d) Proof of enrolment in a PhD in Sociology or related areas;

e) Document(s) proving that the applicant fulfils the conditions required for the type of grant, namely qualification certificate(s) of the academic degree(s) requested, with final average, or proof that the respective certificate(s) has(have) already been requested;

f) If the academic degree of Master, required in the present Announcement as an admission requirement, was obtained abroad, you must submit one of the following documents -

Document proving the granting, by a Portuguese Institution, of the recognition or equivalence or registration of the academic degree; or - Document proving that you have already applied for the recognition of the degree, which application shall be submitted until the deadline for the reception of application s;

g) The presentation of the proof of having obtained the academic degree recognition or equivalence or the academic degree registration is a mandatory condition for signing the contract;

h) For academic degrees obtained in foreign countries, which have not yet obtained either the recognition or the equivalence or the registration of the degree, the recognition of the degree is required, under the terms foreseen in Decree Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, combined with Ministerial Order no. 33/2019, of 25 January.

Offer Requirements

Selection methods and respective evaluation 9.1 The applicable selection methods will be:

a) a curricular evaluation;

b) a motivation letter, in which the candidate explains how his/her profile can contribute to the project;

c) a selection interview.

9.2 The selection interview will be held for the three candidates with the best marks in the curricular evaluation, with a mark equal to or higher than 4,5 points.

9.3 The selection of the candidates will be made according to the terms of reference expressed in No. 2 of this announcement, considering

a) Curriculum evaluation, considering the project objectives and the specific nature of the research work to be developed, valued at 1 to 10 points (50%);

b) Proven experience, considering the specific tasks to be performed in the project, valued at 1 to 10 points (20%);

c) Letter of Motivation, referred to in 13.2, paragraph c), valued at 1 to 10 points (10%);

d) Other factors considered relevant, namely publications and participation in specialised congresses and involvement in civil society activities considered relevant within the scope of the project, valued at 1 to 10 points (10%);

e) Selection interview to evaluate professional and behavioral competences, valued at 1 to 10 points (10%).

Composition of the Selection Board: Dr. Ana Sofia Ribeiro (Chairperson), Dr. Ana Nunes de Almeida (1st Effective Member, who will replace the Chairperson in her absences and

impediments), Dr. Ana Patrícia Hilário (2nd Effective Member), Dr. Maria Manuel Vieira (1st Substitute Member) and Dr. Jussara Rowland (2nd Substitute Member).

Prior hearing and notification of interested parties: All candidates will be notified of the final result of the evaluation, sent to the email address used to send their application, and/or by mail, to the address on the Personal Data Form in Annex, through a list in descending order of the final evaluation obtained. Candidates may exercise the right of prior hearing, in writing, within ten working days from the notification. For that purpose, the candidates may request the minutes to be sent by e-mail or proceed to consult the procedure documents in person at the Institute during office hours.

Under the coordination of the project PI, the grant holder will perform the following duties: a) collection, processing and analysis of qualitative data; b) co-authored reports or other project outputs in English and Portuguese; c) participation in project dissemination activities; d) participation in national and international meetings. Specific Requirements

2.1. Candidates should possess as compulsory requirements:

(a) Enrolment in a PhD in Sociology or in related areas;

b) Master's degree in Sociology, Psychology or related areas;

c) A Licentiate or first degree in Sociology, Psychology or related areas.

2.2. The candidates should have as preferential requirements:

a) Written and spoken command of the English language;

b) Knowledge of qualitative research methodologies, namely interviews and documental analysis.

c) Experience in qualitative data processing and analysis with software support;

d) Experience in research projects with international networks;

e) Interest in the area of youth studies and labour market.
