RESOLUTION

CD13.R21

WHO PARTICIPATION IN THE EXPANDED PROGRAM OF

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

THE 13rd DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Having considered the report in Document CD13/21 on the new programming procedures of the

Expanded Program of Technical Assistance;

Noting that the Technical Assistance Committee has decided that long-term projects should be

prepared and submitted for their entire duration, and that such projects may be approved by the

Committee for periods of not more than four years at a time; and

Noting further that the Technical Assistance Committee has extended the present system for a

two-year program cycle on an experimental basis for the two-years 1963-1964, so that the next requests from

the Governments for Technical Assistance will be made for that biennium,

RESOLVES

1. To confirm its support of the principle that health projects should be planned for the full

2. To recommend that the Member Governments, in presenting requests for Technical Assistance

for the biennium 1963-1964, give full consideration to the importance of health projects as an

essential element in social and economic development.
