1.3 ENTRIES & ACCREDITATION

This event is an event reserved to National Teams, eventually UCI Continental Teams, and organized to receive the participation of 100 athletes, representing 20 teams.

Logistical Aspects

2.1 ACCOMMODATION

TEAMS

The Test Events Official Travel Agency is:

Teams can book their accommodation and transport (airport transfers and local transport) through this agency.

As per the regulations, each team will receive a car on arrival at the airport.

Please note that the accommodation and transport costs are under the National Federations’ financial responsibility.

The hotels listed by the agency will be chosen according to the necessary conditions for a cycling team.

2.2 VISA PROCESS

Rio 2016 has developed a thorough Visa Programme that will also cover those participating in all Test Events.

For all the participants that are nationals from countries who need a visa to enter Brazil (please check the page 27 of the

guide

here attached), Rio 2016 will provide introduction letters that must be submitted with the visa application at the chosen Brazilian Consulate/Embassy abroad. To request an Invitation Letter, please send an email to

with a list of the applicants, including their full names (as in

their passports), passport numbers, dates of birth, country and city where the visa will be made.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

2.3 SPECIFIC REGULATIONS

ARTICLE 1. ORGANIZATION

The Aquece Rio International Road Cycling Challenge is organized by Rio 2016

Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Rua Ulysses Guimarães, 2016, Cidade Nova, 20211-225 Rio de Janeiro RJ Brasil; under the regulations of the International Cycling Union. It is to be held on August 16th_2015.

ARTICLE 2. TYPE OF EVENT

The event is open to athletes of the Men Elite and Under 23 categories. The event is entered on the UCI America Tourcalendar.

The event is registered as a class 1.2event. In conformity with the UCI rules, points are awarded as follows: 40, 30, 16, 12, 10, 8, 6, 3 to the eight first riders, for the UCI rankingContinental Men Elite and Under 23.

ARTICLE 3. PARTICIPATION

As per article 2.1.005 of the UCI regulations, the event is open to the following teams:

National Teams and eventually UCI Continental Teams.

As per article 2.2.003 of the UCI regulations, teams must be formed of minimum 4 (four) and maximum 5 (five) riders.

ARTICLE 4. RACE HEADQUARTERS

The race headquarters of the start shall be open starting at 14h00 on the August 15th

and located at the following address: Fort Copacabana (start/finish installation). Team representatives are requested to confirm their starters and collect their race numbers at the race headquarters from 15h30hto 16h45on the August 15th_.

The team managers' meeting, organized in accordance with article 1.2.087 of the UCI regulations, in the presence of the Members of the Commissaires’ Panel, is scheduled for

17h00 at start/finish installation.

Race headquarters on the competition day shall be open from 9h00 and located at the following address: start/finish installation.

ARTICLE 5. RADIO-TOUR

Race information will be broadcast on the following frequency: TBD

ARTICLE 6. NEUTRAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT The technical support service is handled by Shimano. The neutral support is taken care of by means of: 3 cars

ARTICLE 7. FINISHING TIME LIMITS

Any rider finishing in a time exceeding that of the winner by more than 8% shall not be placed. The time limit may, in exceptional circumstances, be increased by the Commissaires' Panel in agreement with the organizer.

ARTICLE 8. CLASSIFICATIONS

The following classification will be issued: Individual classification by time

ARTICLE 9. PRIZES

The following prizes are awarded:

ARTICLE 10. ANTIDOPING

The UCI Anti-Doping rules and regulations are entirely applicable to the event. Moreover, and in conformity with the law of Brazil, the Brazilian Anti-Doping legislation is applicable in addition to the UCI Anti-Doping rules and regulations.

Doping Control will take place at the Doping Control Station and be located near the finish line off the Field of Play. The Doping Control Station will meet WADA´s

International Standards for Testing and Investigations. Anti-doping at this event will be aligned with the UCI Anti-Doping rules and regulations.

ARTICLE 11. AWARDS CEREMONY

In accordance with article 1.2.112 of the UCI rules, the following riders must attend the official awards ceremony:
