RESOLUTION

CD14.R21

PROCEDURE FOR THE ADMISION OF NEW MEMBERS IN THE

PAHO

THE 14th DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Having regard to Resolution IV of the XVI Pan American Sanitary Conference;

Having studied the draft procedure for the admission of States to membership in the Pan American

Health Organization (Document CD14/3); and

[Bearing in mind,] further, that this matter should be studied more thoroughly before any final

conclusions are reached,

RESOLVES

1. To request the Director to continue to study the question of the admission of new Members to

the Pan American Health Organization and to report thereon to the next meeting of the Directing

Council.

2. [To stipulate] that, in the meantime, any application by a new country for membership in the

Pan American Health Organization be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Article 2,

paragraph A, of the Constitution of PAHO.
