Agradecemos a sua escolha. Esta Cafeteira Elétrica HOFFEN ref. CEP-H128 irá facilitar o seu dia-a-dia. Leia este manual de instruções antes de o colocar em funcionamento, para que possa tirar o máximo partido do mesmo, e guarde-o para consulta futura.

Para reduzir o risco de acidentes pessoais,
incêndio ou danos, quando utilizar aparelhos
elétricos deve seguir precauções de segurança
básicas, incluindo as seguintes:
• Antes de utilizar o aparelho, verifique na
etiqueta de especificações técnicas se a
corrente elétrica corresponde à rede elétrica
da sua habitação. A etiqueta está colocada no
aparelho e no adaptador. Em caso de dúvida,
recorra à ajuda de um eletricista qualificado.
• Este aparelho é de Classe I e possui, de origem,
um cabo de alimentação e uma ficha com
ligação terra, pelo que deve ser sempre ligado

a uma tomada com ligação terra incorporada.
Se a tomada elétrica não tiver ligação terra, é da
responsabilidade pessoal do cliente
substituí-la por uma com ligação terra.
• De forma a evitar riscos de incêndio ou choques
elétricos, certifique-se que nenhum tipo de
líquido entra em contacto com as partes elétricas
do aparelho ou com o cabo de alimentação.
Não exponha o aparelho à humidade, não o
utilize no exterior e mantenha-o afastado de
fontes diretas ou indiretas de água, como por
exemplo, lavatórios, jarras, vasos, etc. No caso
de derrame de qualquer líquido sobre as partes
elétricas, desligue o aparelho imediatamente
da fonte de alimentação e dirija-se à loja onde
o adquiriu ou a um técnico qualificado para
reparação.
• O aparelho não deve ser utilizado se estiver
avariado, se não estiver a funcionar corretamente
ou se detectar alguma anomalia no cabo de
alimentação ou na ficha. Sempre que detectar
alguma avaria e/ou anomalia dirija-se à loja
onde o adquiriu ou a um técnico qualificado, a
fim de efetuar a reparação ou substituição do
aparelho ou do cabo de alimentação.
Assegure-se que somente são usadas peças novas e
recomendadas.

• Verifique periodicamente o cabo de alimentação.
Se o cabo de alimentação estiver danificado,
deve ser substituído pelo fabricante, pelo seu
agente de serviço ou pessoas qualificadas de
forma a evitar riscos.
• Não coloque nenhum objecto por cima do
cabo de alimentação, nunca o dobre ou torça
e certifique-se que o mantém afastado de
arestas cortantes, superfícies quentes e de
locais de normal circulação de pessoas de
forma a evitar quedas. Não deixe que o cabo
de alimentação fique pendurado de forma que
uma criança c o possa agarrar.
• Não enrole o cabo de alimentação à volta do
aparelho para o arrumar, sem que este tenha
arrefecido completamente.
• Segure sempre na ficha para desligar o
aparelho da fonte de alimentação. Nunca o
faça puxando pelo cabo de alimentação.
• Este aparelho não se destina a funcionar
através de temporizadores externos ou de
sistemas de controlo remoto separado.
• Evite utilizar adaptadores e cabos de extensão.
Caso seja necessário, utilize apenas adaptadores
e cabos de extensão recomendados.
• Este aparelho pode ser utilizado por crianças de
8 ou mais anos se tiverem recebido supervisão

ou instruções relativas à utilização do aparelho
de forma segura e compreenderem os riscos
envolvidos. A limpeza e manutenção não devem
ser feitas por crianças com idade inferior a 8
anos e sem supervisão. Mantenha o aparelho
e o cabo de alimentação fora do alcance de
crianças com idade inferior a 8 anos.
• Mantenha este aparelho e o seu cabo de
alimentação afastados do alcance de crianças
com menos de 8 anos de idade.
• As crianças não devem brincar com o aparelho.
• As crianças desconhecem os danos que
podem ser causados por aparelhos elétricos, e
devem ser sempre supervisionadas por forma
a garantir que não brincam com o aparelho.
Este aparelho não é um brinquedo, como tal,
deve ser mantido fora do alcance de crianças.
• Este aparelho pode ser utilizado por pessoas
com capacidades físicas, sensoriais ou mentais
reduzidas ou sem experiência e conhecimento
para o seu manuseamento, se tiverem recebido
supervisão ou instruções relativas à utilização

perigoso e causar asfixia. Deve utilizar apenas
os acessórios recomendados pelo fabricante
e contidos nesta embalagem, sob o risco de
acidente ou danos no aparelho.
• Este aparelho foi concebido apenas para uso
doméstico. Qualquer outro uso será considerado
impróprio e consequentemente perigoso. O
fabricante não pode ser responsabilizado por
nenhuns ferimentos ou danos resultantes do
uso impróprio do aparelho.
• Tendo como propósito a utilização doméstica,
este aparelho não se destina a ser utilizado nos
seguintes locais: copas de lojas, escritórios e
outros ambientes de trabalho; em casas de
turismo rural; por clientes em quartos de hotel,
motéis e outros ambientes residenciais; ou em
alojamentos com serviço de quarto e
pequeno-almoço.
• Não toque no aparelho, nem na sua ficha, com
as mãos molhadas ou os pés húmidos ou
descalços, a fim de evitar choques elétricos.

• Nunca desmonte ou tente efetuar qualquer tipo
de reparação no aparelho. Caso não cumpra
com esta norma de segurança pode colocar
em risco a sua própria segurança e invalidar os
termos da garantia. Somente pessoal técnico,
devidamente qualificado, pode efetuar qualquer
tipo de reparação neste aparelho.
• Não utilizar este aparelho nos seguintes locais:
em copas de lojas, escritórios e outros ambientes
de trabalho; em casas de turismo rural; em
quartos de hotéis, motéis e outros ambientes
residenciais e em alojamentos com serviço de
quarto e pequeno-almoço.
• Nunca coloque o aparelho em cima de
superfícies quentes. Mantenha-o afastado de
fontes diretas ou indiretas de calor, tais como,
fogões a gás ou elétricos, fornos ou outros
aparelhos que produzam calor e coloque-o
sempre sobre uma superfície seca, plana e
protegida de impactos.
• Depois de utilizar e antes de proceder a
qualquer operação de limpeza, arrumação
ou enchimento, certifique-se que o aparelho
está desligado da fonte de alimentação e que
arrefeceu completamente.
• Utilize o aparelho apenas para ferver água
natural à temperatura normal. Nunca utilize

água com gás ou qualquer outro líquido para
além de água natural, e nunca o utilize vazio
por forma a não danificar a resistência.
• Para evitar o derrame de água quente com
risco de queimaduras graves, o nível de água
não deve exceder a marca “MAX” (máximo)
impressa no jarro.
• Durante a utilização, a tampa deve estar
devidamente fechada e a sua abertura
desobstruída. A tampa nunca deve ser aberta
durante o funcionamento, sob o risco de
queimaduras graves e sob o risco do aparelho
não se desligar automaticamente.
• O jarro desliga-se automaticamente quando a
água ferver. Caso pretenda parar manualmente
o aparelho, pressione o botão ligar/desligar
para a posição de desligado.
• Após o aparelho ter sido desligado, quer
automática quer manualmente, aguarde cerca
de 15-20 segundos para o voltar a colocar em
funcionamento.
• Ao atingir a ebulição, o jarro desliga-se e a
luz indicadora de funcionamento existente
no botão ligar/desligar desliga-se também.
Aguarde cerca de 15 minutos para que o
aparelho arrefeça antes de o colocar novamente
em funcionamento. O interruptor de segurança

desliga-se automaticamente durante esse
período.
• Para evitar queimaduras graves, aconselha-se
um cuidado especial ao despejar a água em
ebulição.
•
Antes de retirar o aparelho da base certifique-se que está desligado no botão ligar/desligar.
• Este aparelho deve ser usado exclusivamente
com a base fornecida. A base não deve ser
utilizada para outro propósito que não o
descrito aqui.
• O aparelho deve ser limpo e descalcificado com
regularidade, caso contrário, a sua eficácia e
vida útil poderão ser afetadas, podendo ainda
provocar situações de perigo.
CONTEÚDO DA EMBALAGEM
Depois de retirar o conteúdo da embalagem, por favor verifique se todos os elementos listados estão presentes. Após desempacotar o aparelho, verifique se está a funcionar corretamente.

Prático e fácil de utilizar, a Cafeteira Elétrica HOFFEN ref. CEP-H128 prepara o verdadeiro café tradicional com todo o sabor e qualidade, no conforto de sua casa.
Antes da utilização
• Certifique-se que todo o material de acondicionamento foi retirado antes de utilizar o aparelho, incluído autocolantes ou plásticos.
• Este aparelho não é apropriado para utilização dentro de armários ou no exterior da habitação.
• Para remover quaisquer resíduos de fabrico e de forma a limpar o aparelho, utilize-o primeiramente 1 a 2 vezes consecutivas, desperdiçando a água.
• Lave o filtro permanente (B) e o jarro de vidro (H) e limpe o suporte rotativo do filtro (A) antes da primeira utilização.

Funcionamento
• Coloque o aparelho sobre uma superfície estável, plana e protegida de impactos.
• Encha o depósito (E) com a quantidade de água necessária.
Nota: o nível de água não deve ficar acima da marca “MAX” indicada no
depósito (E).
• Insira o filtro permanente (B) no suporte (A), e coloque a quantidade desejada de café moído. Utilize a pega (C) para puxar o suporte (A) para a posição inicial, certificando-se que fica devidamente encaixado e fechado.
• Coloque o jarro em vidro (H) sobre a placa de aquecimento (K). • Ligue o aparelho à fonte de alimentação e pressione o botão (J) para
a posição “I” (Ligado). A luz do botão (J) acende-se automaticamente e permanece acesa enquanto o aparelho estiver ligado.
• O café começa a ser feito após alguns segundos.
Nota: durante a preparação do café, o jarro (H) pode ser retirado para
servir uma chávena de café. Esta operação não pode exceder 30 segundos sob o risco do café começar a transbordar. Durante este período não sai café pela válvula (F).
• Permita que a preparação do café termine na totalidade. O café está pronto quando já não existir água no depósito (E) e quando deixar de pingar para o jarro (H).
• Se após a preparação do café não desejar servi-lo imediatamente, mantenha o aparelho ligado no botão (J) e o jarro (H) sobre a placa de aquecimento (K) para que o café se mantenha quente. A placa de aquecimento (K) mantém-se quente enquanto o aparelho estiver ligado.
Nota: cuidado para não deixar o jarro (H) demasiado tempo sobre a placa
de aquecimento (K), especialmente se tiver pouca quantidade de café, pois pode evaporar completamente e provocar danos no jarro (H). • Caso pretenda continuar a fazer café, desligue o botão (J) para a
posição “0” (Desligado) e aguarde cerca de 5 minutos. Repita os procedimentos anteriormente descritos para preparar mais café. • Quando não pretender utilizar mais o aparelho, desligue-o o botão (J)

Sistema anti-gotas
• O aparelho está equipado com um sistema que interrompe automaticamente a saída de café quando se retira o jarro (H) da placa (K). Esta interrupção só pode demorar até 30 segundos para que o café não comece a transbordar pelo suporte.
Descalcificação
• É recomendado proceder à descalcificação do aparelho a cada 1 a 3 meses, dependendo da frequência de utilização e do nível de calcário na água.
• A descalcificação do aparelho deve ser feita com um descalcificante próprio para máquinas de café, à venda no mercado, ou com vinagre. Se optar por um produto à venda no mercado, siga as instruções do fabricante, se optar pelo vinagre siga as instruções abaixo:
• Encha o jarro (H) com vinagre e despeje-o no depósito (E). Coloque o aparelho em funcionamento e siga as instruções de “Funcionamento”, mas sem utilizar café.
Nota: o filtro permanente (B) deve ser colocado para a realização desta
operação de descalcificação.
• Após todo o vinagre ter passado, desligue o botão (J) para a posição “0” (Desligado) e deixe o aparelho arrefecer.
• De seguida encha o depósito (E) somente com água natural fresca e repita o procedimento acima descrito. Repita esta operação uma ou duas vezes, até o cheiro do vinagre ter desaparecido completamente. • Terminado o processo de descalcificação, o aparelho está pronto a ser
utilizado novamente.
Nota: caso a desclassificação do aparelho não seja feita com
descalcificantes próprios para as máquinas de café ou com vinagre, coloca em risco a sua própria segurança e a do aparelho.

DICAS
• Manter o aparelho sempre limpo e utilizar água potável limpa e pura são dois factores essenciais para prolongar a vida útil do aparelho. • Despeje sempre a água que sobra após cada utilização para evitar a

• Para obter um café mais saboroso e aromático, aconselha-se que seja moído imediatamente antes de ser preparado. Caso opte por usar café previamente moído, aconselha-se que esteja hermeticamente guardado num local fresco e seco, de preferência no frigorífico.
• Opte sempre por servir o café logo após a sua preparação e evite reaquecê-lo.
• Para retirar as manchas de café mais persistentes do jarro (H), encha-o com água quente, adicione uma colher de carbonato de sódio e deixe actuar durante algum tempo antes de o lavar.
RESOLUÇÃO DE PROBLEMAS
Sempre que utilizar este aparelho e detetar alguma irregularidade no seu funcionamento, consulte a tabela que se segue para perceber as causas e as soluções. Caso não seja possível, dirija-se à loja onde adquiriu o aparelho ou a um técnico qualificado.

LIMPEZA E ARRUMAÇÃO
Limpeza• Para proceder à limpeza do aparelho, desligue-o sempre da fonte de alimentação e permita que arrefeça por completo.
• Não utilize detergentes de limpeza abrasivos, esfregões ou utensílios metálicos para limpar o aparelho.
• Limpe o exterior do aparelho com um pano ligeiramente húmido e seque-o de seguida com um pano seco e macio.
• Lave o filtro permanente (B) e o jarro (H) com água e um detergente neutro. No caso do jarro (H) pode ser necessário utilizar uma escova para a sua limpeza. O jarro (H) pode ser lavado na máquina de lavar loiça.

• Nunca mergulhe o aparelho em água ou qualquer outro líquido.
• O aparelho deve ser descalcificado regularmente e enxaguado várias vezes depois desta ação.
Arrumação
• Certifique-se que o aparelho arrefeceu por completo.
• Armazene o aparelho num local seco e ventilado, afastado de fontes de calor ou da luz solar direta.
REPARAÇÕES
• Este aparelho não possui peças que possam ser reparadas pelo utilizador. Não tente reparar o aparelho por si próprio. Recorra sempre a um profissional credenciado para reparações.
• Se o cabo de alimentação estiver danificado, este deve ser substituído pelo fabricante, por um agente de serviço técnico autorizado ou um profissional qualificado.
ELIMINAÇÃO DO EQUIPAMENTO
De forma a preservar o ambiente e a proteger a saúde humana, os equipamentos eléctricos e electrónicos inutilizáveis devem ser eliminados de acordo com as leis específicas do fabricante e do utilizador. Desta forma, e como indicado através do símbo-lo na etiqueta de classificação ou na embalagem, este aparel-ho não deve ser eliminado com o lixo indiferenciado. O utiliza-dor tem o direito de o levar a um ponto específico de recolha de desperdícios para reutilização, reciclagem ou utilização para outros fins, em conformidade com a diretiva.
GARANTIA
A garantia deste produto é válida por dois anos. No caso de mau funcionamento, deve levar o produto ao local onde o adquiriu com a respetiva prova de compra. Para este fim, o produto deve estar completo e deve ser colocado na embalagem original.

INTRODUCTION

To reduce the risk of personal injury or property
damage, when using electrical appliances, basic
safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
• Before using the appliance, check that the
supply voltage details marked on the appliance
agree with those of the electricity supply. The
label is placed on the appliance. If you have any
doubts please ask a skilled electrician for help.
• This appliance belongs to Class I and has a
supply cord and plug with earth connection and
should always be connected to a wall socket
with earth connection. If the wall socket does
not have earth connection, it is the customer’s

responsibility to replace it by another with
earth connection.
• To avoid fire accidents or electrical shocks,
make sure that no fluids enter in contact
with the electrical parts of the appliance
or in contact with the supply cord. Do not
expose the appliance to humidity, do not use
it outdoors and keep it away from any objects
filled with fluids, such as washbasins, vases,
flowerpots, etc. If any fluid accidentally spills
on the appliance’s electrical parts, disconnect
the appliance from the wall socket and go to
the store where it was bought or contact a
qualify technician for repairing.
• Do not operate this appliance if it is damaged,
if it is not working properly or if detected any
damaged on the supply cord or plug. If it is
detected any damage or any malfunction,
remove the plug from the wall socket and goes
to the store where you bought the appliance or
a qualified technician, to repair the appliance
or replace the supply cord. Assure that only
original parts or components are used.
• Periodically check the supply cord for any
damages. If the supply cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in

• Do not place any objects on top of the supply
cord. Never bend or twist it, and make sure it

appliance for storage before it has cooled
down completely.
• Do not unplug the appliance from the power
supply by pulling the supply cord.

remote-control system.

environments.
• Do not touch on the appliance or its plug with
wet hands, humid feet or barefoot, to avoid the
risk of electrical shocks.
• Never leave the appliance unsupervised during
operation.
• Do not open or undertake any repairs on the
appliance. By failing to observe this rule, you
risk your safety and the warranty may become
invalid. Only qualified technicians can repair
the appliance.
• Never place the appliance on top of hot
surfaces. Keep it away from direct or indirect
heat sources such as gas or electrical burners,
ovens or other appliances that generate heat
and always place it over a dry and flat surface,
protected from impacts.
• After using the appliance and before proceeding
to any cleaning operation, storage or filling with

water, make sure the appliance is disconnected
from the wall socket and that it is completely
cool down.
• Use the appliance only for boiling natural fresh
water. Never use sparkling water or any other
liquid besides natural fresh water and never
use it empty to avoid damaging the resistance.
• The water level should be between the marks
of “MIN” (minimum) and “MAX” (maximum)
printed on the jug. If the maximum mark
indicated is exceeded, there may be spillage of
water with the risk of severe burns and

the water exit unblocked. The lid should never
be opened during usage, at the risk of severe

PREPARING FOR USE
Practical and easy to use, the Electric Coffee Maker HOFFEN ref. CEP-H128 prepares the real traditional coffee with all the flavor and quality, in the comfort of your home.
Before operation
• Make sure that all the packaging materials have been properly removed before use, including stickers or plastics.
• This appliance is not suitable for installation in cabinets or for outdoor use.
• To remove any manufacturing residues and to clean the appliance, use the kettle firstly for 1 to 2 consecutive times and discard the water. • Wash the permanent filter (B) and the glass jar (H) and clean the

Operation
• Place the device on a stable, flat surface protected from impact. • Fill the tank (E) with the required amount of water.
Note: the water level must not be above the “MAX” mark indicated on the tank (E).
• Insert the permanent filter (B) in the holder (A), and place the desired amount of ground coffee. Use the handle (C) to pull the holder (A) to the initial position, making sure it is properly inserted and closed.
• Place the glass jug (H) on the heating plate (K).
• Connect the appliance to the power supply and press the (J) button to the “I” (On) position. The light on the (J) button lights up automatically and stays on while the appliance is on.
• The coffee starts to be made after a few seconds.
Note: during coffee preparation, the jug (H) can be removed to serve a cup of coffee. This operation must not exceed 30 seconds at the risk of the coffee starting to overflow. During this period no coffee comes out through the valve (F).
• Allow the preparation of the coffee to finish completely. The coffee is ready when there is no more water in the tank (E) and when it stops dripping into the jug(H).
• If after the preparation of the coffee you don’t want to serve it immediately, keep the device on the button (J) and the jug (H) on the heating plate (K) so that the coffee stays warm. The heating plate (K) remains hot while the appliance is turned on.
Note: be careful not to leave the jug (H) too long on the hot plate (K), especially if you have a small amount of coffee, as it may evaporate completely and cause damage to the jug (H).
• If you want to continue making coffee, turn off the button (J) to the position “0” (Off) and wait about 5 minutes. Repeat the previously described procedures to prepare more coffee.
• When you do not want to use the device anymore, turn off the button (J) to the “0” position and remove the plug.
Anti-droplet system
• The appliance is equipped with a system that automatically interrupts the coffee output when the jug (H) is removed from the plate (K). This interruption can only take up to 30 seconds so that the coffee does not start to overflow through the holder.

Decalcify
• It is recommended to descale the device every 1 to 3 months, depending on the frequency of use and the level of lime scale in the water.
• The decalcification of the device should be done with a decalcifier suitable for coffee machines, for sale on the market, or with vinegar. If you choose a product for sale on the market, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, if you choose vinegar follow the instructions below: • Fill the jug (H) with vinegar and pour it in the deposit (E). Put the device
in operation and follow the instructions of “Operation”, but without using coffee.
Note: the permanent filter (B) must be placed to perform this decalcification
operation.
• After all the vinegar has passed, turn off the button (J) to the position “0” (Off) and let the device cool down.
• Then fill the tank (E) only with fresh natural water and repeat the procedure described above. Repeat this operation once or twice until the vinegar smell has completely disappeared.
• Once the decalcification process is over, the device is ready to be used again.
Note: if the decalcification of the machine is not done with decalcifiers
suitable for coffee machines or with vinegar, it puts at risk your own safety and that of the machine.
HINTS
• Keeping the appliance always clean and using clean and pure drinking water are two essential factors for prolonging the lifetime of the appliance.
• Always pour the water left over after each use to avoid limescale formation.
• To obtain a more flavorful and aromatic coffee, it is advisable to grind it immediately before preparation. If you choose to use previously ground coffee, it is advisable to keep it hermetically stored in a cool and dry place, preferably in the refrigerator.
• Always choose to serve the coffee immediately after its preparation and avoid reheating it.
• To remove the most persistent coffee stains from the jug (H), fill it with hot water, add a spoonful of sodium carbonate and let it act for sometime before washing it.

TROUBLESHOOTING
During use, if any irregularities are detected on the appliance’s operation, check the below table to understand the causes and solutions to resolve them. If not possible, please contact the Customer Support Line or go to the store where the appliance was bought.

dry it with a dry and soft cloth.
• Wash the permanent filter (B) and the jug (B) with water and a neutral detergent. For the jug (H) it may be necessary to use a brush for its cleaning. The jug (H) can be washed in the dishwasher machine. • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Storage
• Make sure that the appliance has cooled down completely.
• Store the appliance in a dry and ventilated place, away from direct heat sources or direct sunlight.

• This product has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to repair the appliance on your own. Always have a professional repair the product for you.
