Broken mirror

Espelho quebrado

Leandro Machado’s art is based on image multiplication – in the artist’s words, a broken mirror dense with cracks and dust. His work is characterized by his desire to escape the representation of people and objects that seem to have lost credibility. This allows us to look inside [longing for attentive listening and a warm welcome while at the same time trying to convey a personal way of saying things]. It is within this context that Leandro Machado’s painting emerges:

one single igurative element calls our attention [recognized and chosen during this process] and leads us to possible

outcomes: organicity, multiplicity, superimposition, transparency, color, line, gravity action, and loss of control. In sum, Leandro Machado provides us with an opportunity to review current, important issues such as our search for identity and our reason to be.
