Introduction
TheAtlanticForestcomprisesseveralphytophysiognomies,one ofthem is the lowlandsemideciduousseasonal rainforest,also called“TablelandForest”or“TabuleiroForest”.Thisphysiognomy isdistinguishedfromtheotherAtlanticForestformationby occu-pyinganextensiveplainorcoastal“tabuleiro”ofTertiaryorigin. Thebotanicalspeciesaredistributedalongaclimaticgradientfrom thecoasttotheinterior(Rizzini,1979)andtheinteriorgenerally presentslowdensityofcrawlingvegetationandtheoccurrenceof epiphytespecies(Ruschi,1950).Theplantssclerophyllyisother distinguishingcharacteristic(Rizzini,1979).
Insectgall inventorieshave been developed in Atlantic For-estareasofthestateofRiodeJaneiro(Maia,2013a,b;Rodrigues et al., 2014), as wellas in other Brazilian states of the South-eastern Region, suchas São Paulo (Maia et al., 2008), Espírito Santo(Bregoncietal.,2010;Maiaetal.,2014),andMinasGerais
(Maia,2013b,2014).Theseinventoriesfocusedmainlyonrestingas,
butombrophilousforestandaltitudefieldshavebeenalso inves-tigated.The restinga inventories totaled 476gallmorphotypes,

The Estac¸ão Ecológica Estadual de Guaxindiba (EEEG) (21◦2428S-41◦533W) is situated in the northeast portion ofthestateofRiodeJaneiro, inthemunicipalityofSãoFrancisco de Itabapoana, and is the biggest Tabuleiro Forest remnant of thestate.TheEEEG spreadsover 3,260hectares,but theforest is distributed along a stretch of 12,000 hectares. It hosts rare andtypicalplantsofTabuleiroForest, suchasParatecomaperoba Kuhlm (Bignoniaceae), commonly known as “ipê peroba”, as well as plants of high economic value, namely, Aspidosperma polyneurumMüll.Arg.(Apocynaceae),Tabebuiaspp.GomesexDC (Bignoniaceae),CopaiferalucensDwyer(Fabaceae),andCariniana

Resultsanddiscussion
Atotalof143gallmorphotypeswerefoundin31plantfamilies, 60generaand82species.Theaveragenumberofgallmorphotypes perplantspecieswas1.74.InotherAtlanticForestinventories,the gallrichnesshasrangedfrom36(IlhaGrande,AngradosReis,RJ)to 265(SantaTeresa,ES),butsimilarvalueswererecordedin Maram-baia,RJ(n=147)andSãoTomédasLetras,MG(n=152),theformer comprisesrestingaareasandthelatterforestsandaltitudinalfields. Thisrangecanbeexplainedbydifferentcollectingeffortsaswell asbydifferencesinplantrichness.
Fabaceae was the botanical family with the greatest num-ber of galledspecies (n=12) and the highest richness of galls (n=28),followed by Myrtaceae and Sapindaceae, both with13 gallmorphotypesineightandfourgalledplantspecies, respec-tively.Bignoniaceaewerethefourthfamilyinnumber ofgalled species(n=11),followedbyMeliaceae(n=9).Theotherfamilies presentedfourorlessgalledspeciesandnineorlessgall morpho-types(Table1).
InseveralBrazilianinventories,FabaceaeandMyrtaceaehave beenindicatedastherichestplantfamiliesinnumberofgall mor-photypes (Santos et al., 2011b; Costa et al., 2014; Maia et al., 2014).Sapindaceae andBignoniaceae arecommonly present in theseinventories, butnotassuperhostfamilies.
The genera with the highest gall richness were Trichilia P. Browne (Meliaceae) with nine morphotypes, Tontelea Miers Table1

Threeplant genera and nine plant species are recorded for the first time as host of galls in Brazil: Albizia Durazz., Tonte-lea Miers. (Hippocrateaceae), Metrodorea A. St.-Hil. Themajorityofthemorphotypeswereglobose, glabrousand one-chambered, as in all other Brazilian inventories (Table 3) (Maia et al., 2014). Only 7% (n=10) presented trichomes or micropubescence; 5.5% were multi-chambered (n=8), two gall morphotypes(1.4%)hadoneormoreinternalchamberanda sin-gle morphotype wasmassive (without chamber) (probablythe gallisstillyoung).Therewasanevidentpredominanceofgreen (n=87)andbrown(n=46)galls,thecolorsofthemostgalledplant organs(leavesandstem,respectively).But,yellow(n=2)and red-dish(n=3)gallswerealsofound.Infourmorphotypes,thecolor varied(green, whiteorred)andthisvariationwasnotrelatedto thegallmaturity, asyoungandmaturegallspresentedbothcolors. ThesecolorsareusuallymentionedinBrazilianinventories, aswell asthepredominanceofgreenandbrowncolors(Maiaetal.,2014). About32% of thegallers (n=46) were identified at least at order category. The remaining inducers were not identified by three reasons: (1) the galls were already empty, (2) two or more differentdwellers wereobtainedfrom thesame galland theirfoodhabitcouldnotbedeterminedand(3)onlyparasitoid waspswereobtained. Amongtheidentifiedgallers, threeinsect orderswererepresented:Diptera(Cecidomyiidae),Hemiptera, and Lepidoptera, with a clear predominance of the first (Table 4).
