Florianópolis welcomes Olympic torch this

Sunday(10)

Tubarão, Laguna, Palhoça and São José are also part of the course

The Rio 2016 Olympic Torch Relay arrives at Florianópolis this Sunday (10). The retinue previously stops at Tubarão, Laguna, Palhoça and São José. This city in Santa Catarina is the 23rd capital to welcome the Olympic flame, beside Brasília, departure point of the relay. The retinue will travel a total of around 250 kilometers and 171 torchbearers will make the relay. -In Tubarão, the course starts at Marcolino Martins Cabral Avenue, by the shopping mall, and will follow towards the City Centre. Afterwards, the relay passes by the Diocesan Cathedral, then going up Coronel Collaço Street. At the Igreja de Oficinas (Church) square there will be exhibitions of cultural activities from the city.

-The relay in Laguna goes through the margins of Santo Antônio Lagoon, passing by the Matriz de Santo Antônio dos Anjos (Church). The course ends in front of the Anita Garibaldi Museum, where the flame will be welcomed by the town’s population with cultural performances.

-In Palhoça, the course starts at Sete de Setembro Square, in the Centre, and follows through Coronel Bernardino Machado, José Maria da Luz and Caetano Silveira de Matos streets. The retinue heads for João Born Street and for Aniceto Zacchi Avenue, until arriving at Ponte do Imaruim (Bridge).

-Sports activities from the Fundação de Esporte e Cultura projects will make part of the ceremony. Badminton, mini volleyball, mini basketball and mini football games, as well as performances of capoeira and taekwondo, complete the programme, which will still have the Natinal Anthem interpreted by the local artist Maiara Coelho and an artistic performance of roller skates on the stage.

-The torch will be welcomed at the Feira da Freguesia, a cultural event that gathers craftwork and antiques expositions, gastronomy and artistic performances in São José. The retinue departs from Artanoldo de Souza Square and follows through Gaspar Neves Street until Beira-Mar Avenue. The course ends at Lédio João Beira-Martins Avenue, the Kobrasol Centre.

-In Florianópolis, the relay will begin at Konder Avenue, nearby the belvedere of Hercílio Luz Bridge, and the ceremonial cauldron will by lit at Trapiche Municipal. Throughout the course, several cultural and sportive attractions will be promoted by the city. At the belvedere of Hercílio Luz Bridge, there will be artistic gymnastics performances, Boi de Mamão, Folia de Reis

(folkloric festivities) and bands from the military police. At the Cathedral square, there will taekwondo workshops, and a performance by the Ilha String Orchestra and by singer Marjory Porto.

-In the pier of Beira-Mar Norte Avenue, the Expresso Rural and Banda Dazaranha groups will begin the programme, and after the lighting of the ceremonial cauldron, Ludmilla and NX Zero go up the stage to cheer the audience end the day of relay.

An archery athlete who represented Brazil at the London 2012 Olympic Games. In

Pan-American Games, we was at Guadalajara 2011 and Toronto 2015, where he achieved a bronze medal for teams. Daniel will be torchbearer in Palhoça.

-Di Ferrero, Gee Rocha, Fi Ricardo, Caco Grandino and Daniel Weksler The NX Zero band has a 14-year career, five recorded albums, two diamond records and one platinum record for

released singles. The members of NX Zero will carry the torch together at Coca-Cola’s invitation in Florianópolis.

-Fabiana Beltrame Word champion in Slovenia in 2011, this seasoned rowing athlete

participated at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Fabiana was indicated by Bradesco to be torchbearer in Florianópolis.

-Fernanda Gentil Reporter and presenter at Rede Globo TV, this journalist stood out in television for her live coverage of the Bralizian national team at the Confederations Cup in 2013. Since then, she became one of the most praised figures of the channel’s sportive journalism

department. She will be torchbearer in Florianópolis.

-Fernanda Scherer – Xuxa Former swimming athlete, a specialist in the 50 and 100 metre freestyle modalities. Among her main achievements are two bronze Olympic medals, in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, as well as 10 medals in Pan-American games. She will be torchbearer in Florianópolis.

-Jaime Andrade Ramos Former basketball player with history in teams such as Fluminense, Flamengo and Clube Doze de Agosto. He was part of the master basketball team in the World championships of 2003 and 2013; coach and state champion in the years from 1974 until 1976; and also manager and founder of the Florianópolis’ Municipal Sports Foundation, the city where he will carry the torch.

-Karoline Mayer

She practices radical diving, called apnea, and has broken eight world records, among them the mark that is featured in the Guiness Book 2011. Karoline will be torchbearer at Nissan’s Invitation in Florianópolis.

-Lenice Peluso

A former volleyball and beach volleyball player that made part of the Brazilian national team in youth category, achieving the South-American championships of 1976 and 1978. In the main team, she won a silver medal at the South—American championship of 1979 in Argentina and a bronze medal at the San Juan 1979 Pan-Americans. Lenice will be torchbearer in São José. -Luiz Olyntho Teixeira Schirmer

He has been a parachuting athlete for 58 years and has represented Brazil in five world championships. He will be torchbearer at Nissan’s invitation in Florianópolis.

-Luísa Matsuo Harumi

Gymnastics athlete, winner of a golden medal in the Rio 2007 Pan-American Games and Gudalajara 2011. She was also at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Luísa will be torchbearer in Florianópolis.

-Marta Cristina Schonhorst – Kitti

Marta is known in gymnastics as “Kitti”. She participated at the world championship of 1989, where she earned a spot at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. After ending her athlete career, she studied Physical Education and became a rhythmic gymnastics technician. She will carry the torch in Florianópolis.

-Odilon Maia

A canoe sprint athlete aged 87, he was the greatest encourager of Fabiana Betrame’s career. Since 1991, he participates actively at the World Master Canoe Sprinters Meetings. Odilon was indicated by Bradesco to carry the torch in Florianópolis.

-Reinald Conrad

Brazilian sailing athlete with experience in five Olympic Games events. He achieved his first Brazilian sailing Olympic medal , paired with Burkhard Cordes , winning bronze at the Mexico City Games 1968. He repeated this deed in Montreal 1976. Conrad is three times

Pan-American champion with medals in Chicago 1959, São Paulo 1963, Winnipeg 1967 and Mexico City 1975. He will carry the torch in Florianópolis.

-Renan Dal Zotto

Renan belonged to the famous “silver generation” of Brazilian volleyball. He represented Brazil in three Olympic Games events, three world championships, three Pan-Americans and two mini-world championships. He earned the tiles of “most spectacular player in the world”, “best blocker in the world”, “best attacker in the world” and Volleyball Player of the 20th Century in 2001. He will carry the torch in Florianópolis.

- Sebastián Crismanich

Argentinian taekwondo athlete, winner of a gold medal at the London 2012 Oympics. Sebastian was also a gold medalist at the 2011 Guadalajara Pan-American Games. He will carry the torch in Florianópolis.

- Tamiris de Liz

She’s a Brazilian sprinter, specialized in 100 metres and 200 metres modalities. At 16 years old, Tamiris was summoned to be a substitute of the national team on 4 x 100 metres relay that competed at the 2012 London Olympics. Despite having achieved her best score on 100

metres this year, this native of Joinville didn’t reach the required rate for the Rio 2016 Games. She will be torchbearer in Laguna.

-Teco Padaratz Regarded as one of the greatest icons of Brazilian surfing, he is native of

Blumenau, lives in Florianópolis and was one the first Brazilian surfers to compete at the stages of the WCT with sponsors’ support. Previously, he had been world bi-champion of WQS, access division to the world championship. At surf’s elite he achieved two stages: 1991 in Barra da Tijuca (RJ) and 1994 in Hossegor, France. Teco was invited by Coca-Cola to carry the torch in Florianópolis. -Wandir Kuntze Former canoe sprint athlete of the Clube de Regatas do

Flamengo (team), Kuntze participated at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and Moscow 1980, in the K2 and k4 categories. He will be torchbearer in Florianópolis.

Qualquer transmissão relacionada a este evento, deve ser realizada de forma estritamente jornalística, sem criar ou ser apresentada como um programa focado no Revezamento da Tocha Olímpica.

Nenhuma associação comercial / promocional será permitida na cobertura do Revezamento da Tocha Olímpica. Principalmente, a transmissão do Revezamento da Tocha Olímpica não poderá (i) ser patrocinado ou de

Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHBs): RHBs may broadcast the Olympic torch relay in Brazil, on a

non-exclusive basis, in accordance with the terms of their respective media rights agreement with the IOC.

Non-Rights Holding Broadcasters (Non-RHBs): Non-RHBs may broadcast the Olympic torch relay in Brazil

(with the exclusion of the opening and closing ceremonies), on a non-exclusive basis, for a maximum of 36 hours after the event. Any such broadcast must be positioned as news only and not to create, or be positioned as, Olympic torch relay focused programming.

No commercial/promotional association is permitted with the coverage of the Olympic torch relay. In particular, broadcast of the Olympic torch relay may not (i) be sponsored or otherwise be associated in any way to give the impression that Non-RHBs and/or any unauthorized entities and/or products are linked to or associated to the Olympic torch relay, the Olympic Games, the IOC and/or the Olympic Movement and (ii) imply, suggest or represent Non-RHBs as being official rights holding broadcasters and/or partners of the Olympic torch relay, the Olympic Games, the IOC and/or the Olympic Movement.

Opening and Closing ceremonies: The part of the torch relay occurring during the opening and closing
