Master (UÉvora, 1998) and PhD in Sociology (UAlgarve, 2008) with specialization in Sociology of Development, in the case of the Master's Degree, and in Sociology of Work and Organizations, at PhD level.
Current research interests
Has participated and coordinated several research projects, during the last 20 years, financed by portuguese and european funds, namely in the areas of: vocational and professional training, assessment of social and economic impacts of projetcts and institutions (e.g. Higher Education Institucions) and strategies for improving local and regional sustainable development. The actual subjects of scientific interest and future development, with some papers and books already published, are: evaluation and/or assessment of social and cultural impacts/outcomes; education and regional development.

Member of the IPBeja Team in the National Research “Evaluation of the Impacts of the Portuguese Polytechinic Institutes”, developed under the supervision of the Coordinating Council of the Portuguese Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP) and coordinated by the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT)/ Universidade de Lisboa.

• (2010- 2014) Coordinated the Design of the Strategic Plan for IPBeja for 2010-2013 and for 2014-2017.

• (October 2014 – June 2016). Coordinator of the supra-municipal partnership of the Baixo
Alentejo which includes the 13 municipalities of Baixo Alentejo, CIMBAL, EDIA, NERBE, ADRAL and all Local Development Associations (LDA) located in Baixo Alentejo, that promoted the project: to develop entrepreneurial competencies in children and youngsters in Baixo Alentejo’ school contexts.
The project was developed under the protocol established between the IPBeja, the Intermunicipal Community of Baixo Alentejo (CIMBAL), all municipalities and LDA of Baixo Alentejo, EDIA, ADRAL and NERBE.
• (2003 - 2007) Co-coordinated of the project: Educational Charts of the 14 municipalities of the District of Beja, under the protocol established between the IPBeja and the Association of Municipalities of Baixo Alentejo and Alentejo Litoral.
