MoU Implementation (I)

In the context of the

MoU

both parties:

 have committed in working together to promote and foster cooperation,

 to identify common priorities and possible synergies between their own

Programmes and relevant available financial instruments respectively at

European and national/regional levels

The goal of this

MoU

is to identify specific areas of synergy and

complementarity for cooperative research or pilot demonstration activities,

under PT2020 and Clean Sky 2.

Activities can either complement previous or running CSJU funded activities

or sustain precursor phases of future planned CLEAN SKY 2 activities.

The MoU should be kept at a more strategic and programmatic level;

however it could also be used as a political tool

An opportunity for a strategic document mapping of PT capabilities, as a first

basis for a future National Aerospace Strategy

(8)

MoU Implementation (II)

 Taking into account that Aeronautics is included in RIS3 priorities and given an ESIF

budget of almost

2 b€ for R&I

activities, you can build on complementarities and

synergies with CSJU, through the implementation of the bilateral MoU

 To propose future PT2020 funding schemes, to allow for a better match with the objectives of the

Cooperation Strategy defined in paragraph i), including the possibility of launching Clean Sky 2 thematic calls;

 To promote the participation of Portuguese entities in the "General Forum" organized by the CSJU and in national and international aeronautical events;

(10)

 In order to enhance the synergies with ESIF, CSJU provides a “

Guidance

note

” on how to include in the Calls for Proposal, complementary

activities which may be supported by European Structural and

Investment Funds (ESIF).

 Core Partners and/or Partners to CSJU are encouraged to introduce

complementary activities, funded or eligible for support through ESIF,

that

are

in

synergy/complementarity

with

the

JU

funded

project/activities under implementation, topic area and/or contribute

to the objectives of the Clean Sky 2 Programme.

 In both cases, these activities shall be presented under a separate

Work Package (

ESIF WP

) linking to the proposal or to the CSJU selected

project that clearly indicates ESIF and the relevant national/regional

funding scheme/call or ESIF Operational Programme as the possible

source of public funding.
