Materials Research - Ibero-american Journal of Materials

Judicious, fair and educative!

This issue of Materials Research includes 23 articles selected from regular submissions starting in 2004, but including several in the period January to June 2005. Since the editor-in-chief and the edito-rial assistant are living temporarily in the USA, the new and relevant fact is that, for the first time since 1998, when we launched Materials Research, all the procedures necessary to assemble the present issue were carried out via Internet. All the 2005 papers were submitted in electronic format, and were then e-mailed to two referees each, the reviews were received by e-mail, and so on; and it all worked well. We are thus ready to proceed with electronic submissions with an obvious reduction in the time of analysis and cost!

The next issue will be composed by selected papers from the Annual congress of ABM - Associação Brasileira de Metalurgia e Materiais – that took place on the occasion of its 60th birthday in 2004. The guest editor will be Professor Fernando Rizzo.

Associação Brasileira de Metalurgia e Materiais – ABM - has steadily provided for substantial part of the editorial assistant’s salary. The secretaries of Associação Brasileira de Cerâmica - ABC, Associação Brasileira de Polímeros – ABPol, and ABM have helped advertising Materials Research as well with the management of its subscriptions and financial resources.
