SITE AND DATE OF THE NEXT DIRECTING COUNCIL
THE 3rd DIRECTING COUNCIL,
Considering that the XII Pan American Sanitary Conference, held in Caracas, Venezuela, in January
1947, resolved that the XIII Pan American Sanitary Conference would be held in Guatemala in
1950;
Considering that the Government of Guatemala has officially announced that it cannot accept the
responsibility of the XIII Pan American Sanitary Conference; and
Considering that Article 11 of the Rules of Procedure and of Debate of the Directing Council of the
Pan American Sanitary Organization establishes that the Directing Council is to determine the site
of the next meeting,
That the IV Meeting of the Directing Council of the Pan American Sanitary Organization shall take
place immediately before or jointly with the XIII Pan American Sanitary Conference in Ciudad
Trujillo, Dominican Republic.
