SEMESTRE/ANO: II/2008 PRÉ-REQUISITOS: OBJETIVO GERAL DO CURSO:
Proporcionar ao aluno a capacidade de compreender textos na língua inglesa, como meio de aperfeiçoamento e recurso de aprendizagem na área de “Information Technology” elevando o seu conhecimento no contexto profissional e técnico.
EMENTA:
Capacitar os alunos a tornarem-se leitores ativos e reflexivos na língua estrangeira usando técnicas de leituras para identificar os tópicos e idéias principais dos textos e aumentar o seu vocabulário.
OBJETIVO GERAL DA DISCIPLINA:
Levar o aluno a comparar sua Lingua-Mãe com a Lingua-Alvo, levando a melhorar a percepção de sua própria cultura por meio do conhecimento da cultura de outros povos; ampliando sua visão cultural, contribuindo para comunicar-se melhor e compreender textos na área de “Information Technology”.
OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS/DISCIPLINA: - Reconhecer palavras cognatas nos textos trabalhados.
- Interpretar textos referentes a área de Information Technology utilizando SKIMMING e SCANNING, INTENSIVE READING and EXTENSIVE READING SKILLS
- Pronunciar e escrever vocabulário especifico e empregá-lo em situações solicitadas;
- Aumentar vocabulário especifico lendo e interpretando textos de “Basic English for Computing”; - Relacionar os textos com sua vivencia individual e profissional;
- Utilizar os textos como incentivadores de processo de reflexão, sobre a particiapação de cada um de nós no seu meio social.

METODOLOGIA PROPOSTA:
Reading Comprehension Activities (Brainstorming – Skimming - Scanning – Intensive Reading – Extensive Reading – Oral Explanation and writing exercises (sentence building / dictation) Oral presentations (Curriculum Vitae) – Listening Activities (through songs and dialogues) – Grammar points Will be reviewed as they appear in the text and if their explanation is necessary for better understanding.
AVALIAÇÃO:
As atividades avaliativas contemplarão as quatro abilidades: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Com ênfase maior em reading comprehension
In August: Text interpretation / Reading comprehension (Skimming, Scanning, Translation, Word Assossiation, Sentence Building)
In September: Vocabulary Evaluation based on a Glossary of computing terms and abbreviations. In October: Presentation of CV (Oral Evaluation)
In November: Sentence Building with vocablist studied during the semester.
*In all the months there is also made one dictations of expressions and a listening activity through songs
