Saudações!

Na semana passada, havia formas de nomeação para a nossa Concelho Pastroal Paroquial (CPP). Precisamos encher três vagas no conselho. É importante que todos os nossos paroquianos participam do processo de nomeação e eleição durante que será no fim de semana de dias 27 e 28 de Abril . Se você tem o seu formulário de indicação, por favor, deixe-o em uma das caixas nas entradas da Igreja. Se você ainda não preencheu o formulário, por favor, fazê-lo neste fim de semana. Existem formas de nomeação extras nas entradas. Preciso convidar os nomeados para aceitar a nomeação e concorrer à eleição para o PPC. Obrigado por sua ajuda neste assunto!

Abaixo está mais algumas informações sobre a natureza do PPC:

DA NATUREZA DO CONSELHO PASTORAL PAROQUIAL (CPP) -

O CPP é um organismo consultivo (Cf. Cân. 536, § 2), que sob a presidência do pároco, planeja, organiza, lidera, coordena e

avalia a Pastoral Orgânica da Paróquia, exprimindo a unidade e corresponsabilidade, na comunhão eclesial, de clérigos, religiosos e leigos, sob a jurisdição do primeiro (Bispo). O CPP é o principal organismo coordenador da participação dos leigos com os clérigos e religiosos, na vida e nas ações pastorais da Igreja local.

FINALIDADE E COMPETÊNCIA DO CPP—

O CPP consiste numa instância de organização da prática pastoral da Igreja, tendo como objetivo principal ser sinal da comunhão que deve reinar entre todas as comunidades, pastorais e movimentos da Paróquia, bem como testemunhar que todos são irmãos e chamados a trabalhar juntos para o amadurecimento da vida comunitária, formando, assim, o único Corpo de Cristo.

O CPP tem como objetivos promover a unidade e a corresponsabilidade das forças vivas da Paróquia, examinando, planejando, avaliando, liderando, e dinamizando as ações pastorais da Paróquia e propondo prática sobre elas.

O CPP visa ser também um elemento de integração das pastorais, associações, movimentos, respeitando a índole própria e a autonomia de cada um deles, sendo um sinal de consciência, de coparticipação, de corresponsabilidade e de Comunhão. Para a consecução de seu objetivo, o CPP procurará promover e coordenar a ação pastoral e evangelizadora da comunidade paroquial, para melhor realizar a missão da Igreja, competindo-lhe:

a) Coordenar, articular e animar as pastorais, movimentos e as comunidades da Paróquia; b) Investir e ajudar na formação, despertando novas lideranças;

c) Identificar problemas, buscar as causas e juntos buscar soluções; d) Planejar o trabalho pastoral, avaliar e celebrar a caminhada; e) Organizar um cronograma das atividades pastorais da Paróquia;

f) Encaminhar e acompanhar o planejamento de cada pastoral, movimento e comunidades, a partir das decisões e planejamento paroquial e diocesano;

g) Promover a integração e a unidade pastoral na comunidade paroquial;

h) Aprofundar (estudar) temas importantes para a caminhada pastoral, Documentos da Igreja e outros i) Manter uma contínua reflexão sobre a realidade da paróquia;

j) Estar a serviço do crescimento das pastorais e da comunidade como um todo. Para isto, é preciso estar atento a tudo o que acontece na comunidade paroquial e fora dela;

k) Incentivar a participação de todos. Distribuir trabalhos para que mais pessoas assumam os serviços da Igreja; l) Zelar pela unidade (não uniformidade) no caminho pastoral;

Deve ser ainda, lugar de diálogo sincero e respeitoso, atento ao bem comum, criando condições para que todos possam se expressar com liberdade, sem temor ou agressividade, sendo lugar privilegiado de diálogo entre padre, coordenadores ou representantes de comunidade, de pastorais, movimentos, e outros serviços da comunidade paroquial. O CPP deve também aprender a dialogar, a conhecer os problemas humanos e pastorais da Paróquia, a refletir sobre eles à luz do Evangelho e a decidir com prudência e coragem as ações a serem incentivadas.

Easter greetings!

Last weekend, there were nomination forms for our Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). We need to fill three spots on the coun-cil. It is important that all of our parishioners participate in the nomination process and the election during the weekend of April 27th & 28th. If you have your nomination form, please leave it in one of the boxes at the entrances of the Church. If you have not yet nomination anyone, please do so this weekend. There are extra nomination forms at the entrances. I need to invite those nominated to accept the nomination and run for election onto the PPC. Thanks for your help in this matter! Below is some more information on the nature of the PPC:

Establishment of a parish pastoral council—

The Code of Canon Law states that: “After the diocesan bishop has listened to the presbyteral council and if he judges it opportune, a pastoral council is to be established in each parish; the pastor presides over it, and through it the Christian faith-ful along with those who share in the pastoral care of the parish in virtue of their office give their help in fostering pastoral activity.” (Canon 536, par.1)

“This pastoral council possesses a consultative vote only and is governed by norms determined by the diocesan bish-op.” (Canon 536, par. 2)

Purpose and objectives of a parish pastoral council—

Purpose: To assist the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the evangelization, worship, religious education and service activities within the parish.

Objectives: To assess adequately the needs of the whole parish and its members, and to develop and implement a pastoral plan which will promote the common good of the parish. To foster unity and a sense of community in the parish and to co-ordinate all parish activities in a manner that will best serve the interests of the parish. To promote programs and activities recommended by the Archbishop, Archdiocesan offices and agencies as well as the pastoral council itself.

Scope and authority—

As a consultative body, the PPC is responsible to the pastor, assisting and supporting him in his leadership role. It recognizes the varied gifts of the parish members and invites them to an active leadership role in the parish. The PPC should be an im-portant means by which the pastor will hear the voice of the parish. Through its deliberations and consultation with the pas-tor, the PPC helps to unite the pastor and the parishioners. Together they discern the pastoral needs of the parish and ways in which those needs can be addressed.

Characteristics of a parish pastoral council—

• Prayerful. The council devotes time to reflective prayer at each meeting and makes provision at least once a year to have some special time or meetings spent together solely in prayer, reflection and spiritual sharing.

• Pastoral. The council is pastoral in the sense that its purpose is to assist in the development of an overall mission plan for the parish in order to make Christ evermore present to the parishioners and to the wider community.

• Representative. The council members represent the entire parish community and exercise their responsibility with a con-cern that includes all parishioners.

• Discerning. Through a prayerful consensus process, the council merges the diverse experiences, skills and gifts of the council members, and having listened to the parishioner’s needs and ideas, discerns recommendations concerning the direction and priorities of the parish.

• Responsive. The council has a responsibility to be sensitive to and cognizant of justice and peace issues at the local, nation-al, and international level.

• Enabling. In the spirit of God’s love, the members of the PPC strive to recognize and support each other’s gifts and seek ways in which each parishioner’s gifts may surface, grow and flourish for the good of the Church.

No Domingo, 14 de Abril, pelas 10:30 da manhã sairá em Procissão do Centro Cultural da Filarmonica e terminará na Igreja de Santo António onde uma Missa será celebrada em memória de todos os Músicos e Sócios falecidos. Depois da Missa, a Procissão regressa ao Filarmónico onde almoço com as tradicionais sopas do Espírito Santo, carne, vinho, e massa serão servidos. E para concluir estas festividades, um concerto especial pela a Filarmónica.

Tuesdays at St. Francis & Thursdays at St. Anthony’s

All are welcome, invited and encouraged to stop by the chapel at St. Francis Church each Tuesday from 9:00am— Noon and the chapel at St. Anthony Church each Thursday from 9:30am—6:30pm for Exposition of the Blessed Sacra-ment. In addition, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every First Friday of the month from 5:00pm until 6:30pm at St. Anthony Church. Please come and spend some quiet time with the Lord.

Our parish at Saint Anthony joins with the other 287 parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston's 2013 Catholic Appeal. This effort directly supports the 50 ministries that benefit hundreds of pastoral, charitable and educational programs. During this holy time of Lent, we can be the Good Samaritan to others through the Catholic Appeal. To join with our parish in our goal to raise $18,399 please pledge your support. Envelopes are available in Church and online pledges at www.BostonCatholicAppeal.org. Thank you for your prayers in support of this important effort.
