RESOLUTION

CD20.R18

PAHO TEXTBOOK PROGRAM

THE 20th DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Bearing in mind the interest of the Governments in the PAHO textbook program;

Having learned with satisfaction of the favorable development of the program described in the

report of the Director (Document CD20/5),1 Annex 7, PAHO Official Document 115 (1972) and

the approval of the loan for the program made to the Pan American Health and Education

Foundation (PAHEF) by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the purpose of

undertaking a joint PAHO/PAHEF program in accord with the plan approved by the XVIII Pan

American Sanitary Conference in Resolution XXIX; and

Considering the efforts the Organization has made over the years to obtain adequate long-term

financing for this program,

RESOLVES

1. To take note of the report of the Director on the textbook program (Document CD20/5).

2. To congratulate the Director on the way in which the program has been conducted and on

3. To thank the Inter-American Development Bank for approving the loan to finance this important

program.

4. To thank the Pan American Health and Education Foundation for its cooperation with the Pan

American Health Organization in the textbook program.
