Dear Lord Jesus and Mary, Mother of God, hold all these brave souls in the palm of your hand; comfort them and their families. Send angels of protection, love, and comfort to all the service men and women still at war, bring them home safely and comfort their families. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Right to Life-LIFESPAN Protecting Human Life

Human life is a gift form the Creator– He allows us to protect, respect, love and nurture it. It seems unlikely that His plan for this gift included abortion, euthanasia or experimentation. He provided us with all the necessary graces to take care of this gift, through easy times and through hard times. How are we doing these days?

Take Five for Faith Reconcile yourself

A shrinking number of Catholics—even those who attend Mass regularly—go to Confession. Don’t be tempted to skip this sacrament; pray for help from Saint Alphonsus Liguori, the patron of confessors, who preached in the 18th-century slums of Italy. He never refused anyone ab- solution and even fought against a heresy that treated penitents like criminals. Part of the mission of the order he founded, the Redemptorists, is to bring people back into a life of grace through Confession. With the help of his in- tercession, embrace the healing of forgiveness and be rec- onciled with your loving God.

Regent Kathy Huey [email protected]

Any Catholic woman who is 16 or older can join. We are women from all walks of life - professionals, full-time moms, retirees, the young and the young at heart. We all belong for our own personal reasons: Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month (except July & Au- gust) at 7:00 p.m. in the carpeted meeting room. We cur- rently have approximately 35 members and are looking to expand our membership.

St. Frederick’s School Memorial Mass and Reunion

The Annual Pontiac St. Frederick’s Mass and All Class Re- union will take place on September 8, 2019. The old St.

Frederick School will be open that morning from 9:30 a.m.

until 10:45 a.m. for those who would like to walk thru the hallowed halls once again. The Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. The luncheon will follow at Santia Hall on Cass Lake Rd. in Keego Har- bor. Tickets are available at Kennedy’s Irish Pub on W.

Huron St. in Waterford or contact Jim Russell at 248-363- 4209. Email address is: [email protected] Ticket deadline is September 7, 2019. Anyone that ever attended St. Fred’s is welcome.

Alhambra is the only charitable Catholic organization here at St. Perpetua that is co-ed. We meet on the 2nd Thurs- day of the month right after the 7 p.m. Mass. If you are Catholic, over 18 years of age, take a look at us. Check out our information table in the Church hall, drop in during one of our meetings held on the 2nd Thursday of the month, following the 7p.m. Mass, or feel free to contact Ted Gozdzialski at 248-318-6120.

A Prayer for Priests

O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep all Thy priests within the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart,

where none may harm them.

Keep unstained their anointed hands which daily touch Thy Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips

purpled with Thy Precious Blood.

Keep pure and unearthly their hearts sealed with the sublime marks of Thy glorious priesthood.

Let Thy holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion.

Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls to whom they have ministered be here below

their joy and consolation and in Heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen O Mary, Queen of the clergy, pray for us;

obtain for us a number of holy priests.
