Preâmbulo

É com grande prazer que a Comissão Editorial apresenta à comunidade científica este seu primeiro número temático internacional, Corpus studies: future directions, que enfoca uma das áreas de ponta da pesquisa linguística contemporânea: a linguística de corpus e suas aplicações.

Gostaríamos de agradecer ao Prof. Stefan Th. Gries, da Universidade da Califórnia em Santa Bárbara, por ter gentilmente aceitado o nosso convite para ser o editor-convidado deste número temático, o qual, como verão, bem reflete o seu pensamento voltado para o futuro da área.

Agradecemos também aos colegas pesquisadores que submeteram as suas contribuições e se empenharam em formular direcionamentos para o crescimento da área de linguística de corpus. A RBLA se sente honrada por poder oferecer à comunidade internacional um número temático de tão grande excelência.

Aos nossos leitores desejamos que tenham uma experiência inspiradora e motivadora ao lerem os artigos aqui agrupados.
