Introduction

We are pleased to present the new guidelines and changes to the Estudos de Psicologia ( Psychological Studies) journal. We assumed the leadership of this Journal in July 2012, and from this date on several steps were taken to ensure that the quality of publications and their impact reached ever higher levels.

A new national and international editorial boards were invited to compose the team for our Journal. Stricter rules were designed for the evaluation of the articles in order to prevent multiple revisions until the final acceptance of the work. Therefore, two revisions were established as the maximum for accepting articles. The ad hoc consultants’ evaluation form to review articles was modifiedin order to avoid repeated information and extra work.

The requirement of an international article per edition was another necessary step toward the internationalization of this Journal. Another strategy was to consult authors of approved articles regarding their interests in translating their work into English. A call for international papers was also targeted to the international consultants. Therefore, we hope to increase the impact level of the Estudos de Psicologia journal into the national and international academic environment.

Efforts are being made in order to include the Journal into other databases. Although the Journal is already

listed in SciELO, Lilacs, PsycINFO, Psicodoc, Latindex, CLASE, and Index Psi databases, we are still striving for more

visibility in other international scientific databases. Therefore, we hope that our current Qualis-A2 classification will soon be upgraded. The support of Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) has been essential for the growth and recognition of our Journal.

We appreciate the valuable collaboration of all consultants and authors who have been contributing to the prestige of our Journal through their evaluations and by submitting publications. We will certainly endeavor to meet the readers’ expectations, who seek to find in this Journal a reliable and current source for the scientific progress in the area of psychology, through different theoretical methods and fields of application.

We rely on the continuity of the scientific contributions of all of you for the growth of the Estudos de Psicologia Journal, edited by PUC-Campinas.

Sincerely yours,
