Workshop on Visiting the Sick

Wednesdays, September 7 to October 12, 2016 a workshop on Pastoral Care to the Sick and the Homebound will be offered at Saint Raphael, Medford from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Judy Talvacchia, a certified chaplain, will teach the course.

The Workshop will include a review of communication skills, the basics of pastoral visitation, key illness issues, spiritual needs and concerns, grief, loss and dying, and caregiving issues. Eucharistic ministers, pastoral visitors, parish nurses and others are encour-aged to attend. Fee: $40. Registration information is available in the Parish Office or call 6617-746-5843. A Igreja encoraja todos os doentes, especialmen-te os que se encontram em condições de saúde precárias em suas casas, nos hospitais ou lares de terceira idade, de receberem a Santa Unção. Poderá acontecer na Igreja depois da missa ou em outro lugar onde o doente fisicamente se encontra. Encorajamos as pessoas responsáveis pelos doentes a não esperar até ao último momento para con-tactar o Sacerdote. O ultimo sacramento deve ser o Viati-cum, ou Comunhão pelos moribundos.

Anointing of the Sick

The church encourages & invites all who are ill, who are to undergo surgery, or who are confined to their home due to illness to be prayed over & anointed with sacred oil. This can take place after Mass, at home or at the hospital. Please do not wait for the last moment for yourself or a loved one to be anointed. The last sacrament is Viaticum or com-munion for the dying. Please speak to a priest for anointing.

Cruz em Boston às 10 AM. Esta é uma

opor-tunidade de ganhar uma Indulgência do

Jubi-leu do Ano Santo da Misericórdia. A intenção

é que as pessoas a caminhem juntas em

oração até lá. Teremos missa, um tour pela

Catedral e passaremos pela "Porta Santa".

Para as pessoas que não são capazes de fazer

a peregrinação a pé, teremos autocarro

dis-ponível. Se você estiver interessado em ir,

por favor ligue para a reitoria para dar o seu

nome e número de telefone e se você vai no

autocarro. Pode haver um custo mínimo para

o autocarro.

On August 20, 2016 the three parishes of

East Cambridge: Saint Anthony, Saint

Fran-cis and Sacred Heart of Jesus will be having

a Pilgrimage to the Cathedral of the Holy

Cross in Boston at 10 AM. This is an

oppor-tunity to gain the Jubilee Holy Year

Indul-gence. The intention is for people to walk

to-gether praying until there, we will have

Mass, a tour of the Cathedral and a walk

through the “Holy Door.” For the people who

are not able to do the pilgrimage by walking,

we will have buses available. If you are

inter-ested in going, please call the rectory and

give your name and phone number and if you

will take the bus. There may be a minimal

cost for the bus. Please call to inform us if

you’ll be riding or prefer to walk.

A Paróquia Santo António e a Comunidade Shalom lideraram um grupo de 23 jovens

para a Jornada Mundial da Juventude na Polônia. Viveram momentos inesquecíveis
