242 COMUNICAÇÃO SAÚDE EDUCAÇÃO v.14, n.33, p.242, abr./jun. 2010

The texts that make up this issue originate from several fields, professions, studies and research projects, but it can be said that, in some way, all of them point towards, reveal or even brief against our knowledge policies, our ways of knowing or not knowing and our disputes, subjections, achievements, mistakes, tensions and openness relating to new things.

The body, care and power are the topics and subject-matter, or emerge in these papers in their discursive dimensions of reproduction and production within the social imaginary and in professional practices: normalization of bodies and ways of living, reduction of becoming ill to individual choices, capture of adolescence in a “non-place”, hegemony in promoting “healthy old age”, stereotyping of feminization of primary healthcare services, psychiatrization of childhood and exclusion of maternity body experience regarding day-to-day breastfeeding.

The concepts of bioethics, biopower, biopolitics and autonomy take center stage in reflections on healthcare, health education, health promotion, training, management, assessment, research and public health, among other contexts. And a look at work processes shows their relevance to the quest to put the principles and actions of the Brazilian National Health System (SUS) into effect.

Among the many other points that could be highlighted from these articles, to invite careful reading, there is also a study that brings out the courage of the writings of Qorpo Santo and a study proposing honesty with history.

Interface now has a team responsible for the creative section and the graphical-textual project, which starts its work with the interplay of dialogue between the key points in the texts and the pulse of bodies captured in the images of the photographer João Caldas.
