Minutes Amsterdam WP 3 December 3rd and 4th 2007

Outcomes

- The peer learning meeting will take place in Vienna

on April 9th and 10th 2008

- As a preparation for this meeting, Tony Watts will arrange for a first draft of the handbook to be

distributed in January, for comments. Then a close to completed version will be distributed in March.

- Peter Härtel will distribute a short list of questions (but not a detailed questionnaire), also by way of

preparation for the meeting

- Peter Härtel will contact the French delegation

and the European Commission to clarify what kind of contribution is needed to the conference in Lyon.

The

European Lifelong Guidance Policy

Network aims …..to promote cooperation at Member State level on

lifelong guidance and to propose appropriate

structures and support

mechanisms

in implementing the priorities identified in the Resolution on Lifelong Guidance (2004).

• The

main aim

during the

initial phase

is to

establish the network infrastructure and through the

peer learning activities to identify in more

details the areas of guidance where national developments can be enhanced by means of the ELGPN.

I. Main Aim of the ELGPN

• The nature, tasks and structures of such

mechanisms should be related to the needs

within each country, and are accordingly likely to vary considerably.

• The tasks of this work package are driven by the interest of Member States which do not currently have a national co-ordinating mechanism and

from the results of the Finnish EU-Presidency lifelong guidance policy conference 2006 and from the experiences of the two EU Joint Action projects.
