Περίληψη
Από το 2015 και μετά η Ελλάδα γίνεται αποδέκτης δεκάδων χιλιάδων μεταναστών οι οποίοι αιτούνται την αναγνώριση της προσφυγικής ιδιότητας και την έκδοση απόφασης χορήγησης ασύλου.
Σκοπός της μελέτης: Η παρούσα μελέτη αποσκοπεί να διερευνήσει την ψυχολογική κατάσταση και την ποιότητα ζωής δείγματος πολιτών τρίτων χωρών αιτούντων άσυλο στην Ελλάδα.
Υλικό-Μέθοδος: Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 142 άτομα τα οποία διέμεναν σε ιδιωτικές κατοικίες εντός του νομού Αττικής και είχαν λάβει θετική απόφαση χορήγησης ασύλου ή εκκρεμούσε η απόφαση. Για την συγκέντρωση των δεδομένων χρησιμοποιήθηκε ένα σύνθετο ερωτηματολόγιο που διαμορφώθηκε με βάση το εργαλείο μέτρησης της Ποιότητας Ζωής του Παγκόσμιου Οργανισμού Υγείας WHO-QOLBREF και το Refugee Health Screener, RHS-15, για την εκτίμηση του βαθμού συναισθηματικής δυσφορίας των συμμετεχόντων. Επίσης περιελάμβανε ερωτήσεις καταγραφής των κοινωνικών-δημογραφικών και ιατρικών τους στοιχείων. Για τη στατιστική ανάλυση χρησιμοποιήθηκε το πρόγραμμα SPSS 22.0.
Αποτελέσματα: Το 78,2% των συμμετεχόντων είχαν έρθει στην Ελλάδα την διετία 2018-2019, το 41,5% ήταν ηλικίας από 24-35 ετών και το 28,2% έπασχε από κάποιο πρόβλημα υγείας.
Σχεδόν το ήμισυ του δείγματος (44,4%), αξιολόγησε άσχημα/πολύ άσχημα την ποιότητα ζωής του. Όλες οι διαστάσεις μέτρησης της Ποιότητας της Ζωής που μελετήθηκαν έλαβαν χαμηλότερη βαθμολογία από αυτές του γηγενή πληθυσμού με χαμηλότερη αυτήν του περιβάλλοντος διαβίωσης. Προέκυψε ότι η ευρεία πλειοψηφία των συμμετεχόντων (91,5%) ένοιωθαν συναισθηματική δυσφορία και το 85,9% κρίθηκε θετικό σε προβλήματα άγχους κατάθλιψης και μετατραυματικής διαταραχής. Οι γυναίκες, τα άτομα ηλικίας άνω των 45 ετών και οι προερχόμενοι από το Αφγανιστάν, εμφανίζονται με στατιστικά σημαντικά υψηλότερο επίπεδο συναισθηματικής δυσφορίας, ενώ το φύλο και η συναισθηματική δυσφορία, βρέθηκαν να σχετίζονται στατιστικά σημαντικά με τη βαθμολογία στη διάσταση «κοινωνικές σχέσεις».
Προέκυψε επίσης, ότι το επίπεδο εκπαίδευσης των συμμετεχόντων επηρέαζε στατιστικά σημαντικά την αντιλαμβανόμενη ποιότητα ζωής, με το υψηλότερο εκπαιδευτικό επίπεδο να συσχετίζεται με θετικότερη αξιολόγηση της συνολικής ποιότητας ζωής και της υγείας.
Συμπεράσματα: Τα παρόντα αποτελέσματα καταδεικνύουν σημαντικές προκλήσεις που σχετίζονται με την ψυχική υγεία και την ποιότητα ζωής ατόμων που αιτούνται άσυλο στην Ελλάδα και τονίζουν τη σημασία κάλυψης των αναγκών τους και διευκόλυνσης της πρόσβασής τους σε υπηρεσίες υγείας, προκειμένου να λάβουν την απαραίτητη υποστήριξη που θα εξομαλύνει τη διαδικασία ένταξής τους στην ελληνική κοινωνία.

«Health status and psychosocial needs of third-country nationals seeking asylum in Greece»

Abstract
Since 2015, Greece has been receiving tens of thousands of immigrants seeking the recognition of refugee status and the decision to grant asylum.
Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological status and quality of life of a sample of third country asylum seekers in Greece.
Material-Method: The study involved 142 individuals who lived in private homes in the Attica prefecture and had a positive asylum decision or pending decision. A composite questionnaire was developed based on the WHO-QOLBREF World Health Organization Quality of Life tool and the Refugee Health Screener, RHS-15, to assess the degree of emotional distress of participants. It also included questions about recording their socio-demographic and medical data. SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis.
Results: 78.2% of participants had come to Greece in the period 2018-2019, 41.5% were aged 24-35 and 28.2% had a health problem. Almost half of the sample (44.4%) rated their quality of life poor / very poor. All of the dimensions of quality of life studied were rated lower than those of the indigenous population with the lowest of the living environment. It was found that the vast majority of participants (91.5%) felt emotional discomfort and 85.9% judged positive for anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Women, aged over 45, and those from Afghanistan, showed statistically significantly higher levels of emotional distress, while gender and emotional distress were found to be statistically significantly related to the "social relationships" score. It was also found that participants' level of education had a statistically
significant effect on perceived quality of life, with higher educational level being associated with a more positive assessment of overall quality of life and health.
Conclusions: These results highlight important challenges related to the mental health and quality of life of asylum seekers in Greece and emphasize the importance of meeting their needs and facilitating their access to health services in order to receive the necessary support that will smooth them out. the process of their integration into Greek society.
