Περίληψη
Η τέχνη του δρόμου αποτελεί μια μορφή τέχνης και αναγνωρίζεται ότι ανάγεται και σε όψη του πολιτισμού. Με την τέχνη του δρόμου προωθείται η πνευματική ανάπτυξη καθώς γίνεται αποδεκτό ότι η συγκεκριμένη μορφή τέχνης προωθεί την κριτική σκέψη, τον προβληματισμό σε διάφορα ζητήματα, τη διεύρυνση των πνευματικών οριζόντων των ανθρώπων. Την ίδια στιγμή, αναγνωρίζεται ότι η τέχνη του δρόμου συμβάλλει στην οικονομική ανάπτυξη μιας περιοχής. Τα έργα της τέχνης του δρόμου αναβαθμίζουν τον αστικό χώρο και τον εξωραΐζουν, προσελκύουν περισσότερους επισκέπτες, αναδεικνύουν την εικόνα μιας περιοχής στο εξωτερικό και συνδέονται με σημαντικά οικονομικά οφέλη.
Παράλληλα, όμως, η τέχνη του δρόμου επιτυγχάνει και την ανάπτυξη στο πλαίσιο μιας οργανωμένης κοινωνίας. Προωθεί τον περιορισμό των κοινωνικών ανισοτήτων και του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού και ανάγεται σε πεδίο όπου όλοι οι πολίτες ακούν και ακούγονται, έχουν λόγο για να εκφραστούν και παρέχουν το βήμα και στους συνανθρώπους τους για τον ίδιο σκοπό. Επομένως, είναι μεγάλη η σημασία της τέχνης του δρόμου σε κάθε αστικό περιβάλλον. Όλα τα παραπάνω εξετάζονται υπό την οπτική των πολιτών της Πάτρας. Άλλωστε, η Πάτρα αποτελεί έναν κατεξοχήν χώρο έκφρασης και δημιουργίας, λαμβανομένων υπόψη όλων των φεστιβάλ και δράσεων που διεξάγονται σε αυτήν. Με την παρούσα έρευνα έχει εντοπιστεί στον μεγαλύτερο βαθμό ότι οι πολίτες της Πάτρας συμφωνούν με όλα τα παραπάνω, ωστόσο, παρατηρούνται και ορισμένες αποκλίσεις.

«Street Art as a Cultural Practice and a Tool for Urban Development: The Case of Patras»
Abstract
Street art is considered as art and is regarded as a part of a place’s culture and civilization.
Street art serves as a tool in order to promote the spiritual development of the people of a region. It promotes critical thinking, reflection on various issues and leads to the expansion of the spiritual horizons of people. At the same time, street art contributes to the economic development of an area. The works of street art upgrade the urban space, attract more visitors, and promote a better image of a place abroad. Therefore, they are linked with significant financial benefits. At the same time, however, street art implements social development. The elimination of social inequalities and social exclusion phenomena is achieved through street art, people can express their thoughts and can be heard. Therefore, social cohesion is acquired. Overall, street art is considered as a great asset that leads to the multifaceted development of every urban place. In the present master thesis, all the above are examined from the point of view of the citizens of Patras. After all, Patras is a city in which an extended platform is expression and creativity is established, since many festival and art projects take place. Under the present research, it can be concluded that to a great extent the citizens of Patras agree with all the above, however, some discrepancies are observed.
