This English translation is the second edition of this treatise; published on the occasion of the 80th birthday of my grandfather, Dnyaneshwar Agashe; published to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first edition's publication in 2002. Ramesh Barve, whose determination and perseverance in the organization, editing, compilation and execution of the first edition was a significant and triumphant achievement. The tone and tenor of the essays incorporated in this publication have been translated as they were to preserve the integrity of their authors' meaning and intentions at the time of writing.
Seeing the students of Mudhoji College in Phaltan, Shreepur, singing paeans to Dnyaneshwar and Chandrashekhar as they work diligently, warms my head. Why would a Shivaji not take pride in the fact that an 'Udyogpati' (industrialist) like Dnyaneshwar Agashe, is also a 'Kridapati' (sports administrator) and has gone on to become a 'Chhatrapati' (king) to rule hearts and minds of honest and hardworking employees. I understand that carrying forward the Agashe family name means taking on a lot of responsibilities.
Be it my interest in music or in the fields of Information Technology and Biotechnology, I dared to do things differently, not only because of the financial help, but also because of my father's constant guidance and moral support. I happily made the right choice and here I am today, blessed to be part of the Agashe family.

It gives me great pleasure to note that a festival is being held, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, to celebrate the life and career of Mr. his capabilities as well, which has now grown into a full-fledged industrial empire. It is a matter of great pride, and will spread the fame of the Marathi manoos (man) far and wide.
Agashe on his 60th birthday, is a tribute to his achievements as an industrialist and his reaching the pinnacle of success. His achievements in the fields of culture, sports, spirituality and banking, in addition to his original industrial field, testify to his versatility. Agashe's long and healthy life and that he may continue his service in the industrial sector for years to come.

That he was not only dependent on the factory started by his father but successfully ventured into various fields is a testament to his expertise and enterprise. Despite being extremely soft-spoken, the inherent desire and drive to gain knowledge and be proficient in a particular field and his subsequent success are emblematic of his abilities. The manner in which he ably shouldered the responsibilities thrust upon him at an early age and his success in industry, culture, sports and literature is a source of guidance and inspiration to young aspiring industrialists.
It is indeed commendable that he did not rest on his laurels, but now guides the next generation of players. Agashe's past achievements provide a beacon of light to all, but his contribution in various fields in the future, as administrator, bank manager, etc.

While he reached staggering heights in industry, culture, literature, sports, spirituality and banking by virtue of his scientific attitude and abilities, he never gave up the qualities of humility, modesty and cooperation which are becoming obsolete today. Through his simple lifestyle despite being an industrialist, developing and maintaining close personal relationships with thousands of people over the years despite not being a politician, and the attitude of showing appreciation, Maalak has carved a special place for himself in hearts and minds of the people. On the occasion of his 60th birthday, I wish this multi-dimensional personality, from the bottom of my heart, my best wishes and pray to Lord Pandurang of Pandharpur that he remains fit and healthy to celebrate a century in real life as well .

As a businessman, he has always been helpful to his friends who approach him for financial assistance. I have personal experience of this as he always helped when my company needed funds. Maharashtra Cricket is really lucky to have him as the Chairman of the Association, which is functioning very well under his able leadership.

Not only did he buy the product, but he also gave the right price in the period that followed. This was the first step in the revival of farmers' factories that produced wine from grapes. In later years, thanks to his bank and Sakal, our relationship became stronger and has remained so to this day.
He has always been there in times of need for which I will forever be indebted to him. I have seen him help and guide countless people and go through several bitter financial and psychological upheavals on behalf of his friends.

Sane Guruji used to say 'there is no more beautiful flower than that of friendship in the garden of the world'. Dnyaneshwar is well aware of his friends' contribution to everything he has achieved so far. She often reminds me of the beautiful, traditional lamp that burns continuously in the temple in their house.
All the officers of the bank were well aware of this aspect of Dnyaneshwar's vision. The onus to protect the sanctity of this 'Dnyaneshwar' rests on the shoulders of the Almighty. On the eve of the bank's launch, I wrote an editorial in the Rohini magazine wishing the bank well.
Probably the secret of his success is that he treats every employee as a member of the Agashe family. In this 75th year of the festival, we got that strong hand in the form of Dnyaneshwar Agasha. I met him at the bottom of the stairs on his way out.
The matches held in Maharashtriya Mandal had a squad of fifteen instead of the usual eleven. In the year of the board exams, he was elected by a large margin as the main representative of the students at the annual social meeting. He achieved fame and popularity in the field of sports and became the Vice President of BCCI.

Agashe and Vilas Ekbote came to my office on August 8 with the appropriate application documents. I told him that according to government protocol it would take about a month for the bank to register. But Agashe argued his case with such conviction that my boss and I gave him the registration in just three days.
The bank was inaugurated in the hands of Sheshrao Wankhede, on 22 September. In his speech, Wankhede made a noise, wondering if everything was above, as the registration was given in just three days.

The buffet was over, but the tone in which the inspector spoke to the manager led to a small buffet being arranged for us. When the time came to pay for the bill, the manager said, "Be my guests." Although this literary tribute was compiled and published in Pune, the original idea for this came from the people of Shreepur.
