Panovko of the Institute of Problems in Mechanical Engineering of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPME RAS), Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University (Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics), Scientific Council on Solid Mechanics (RAS) (Chairman N.F. Morozov), Russian National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (Chairman I.G. Goryacheva) under the patronage of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The main purpose of the meeting is to bring together specialists from different branches of mechanics to create a platform for cross-fertilization of ideas. The list of problems under investigation is not limited to mechanical engineering issues, but includes virtually all advanced problems in mechanics, as reflected in the name of the conference.

In 1994 the Institute for Problems in Mechanical Engineering at the Russian Academy of Sciences restarted the Summer School. Model of a graphite plate. A continual model of a rectangular graphite plate, consisting of graphene layers
A qualitative analysis of the cylinder dynamics for different plane inclinations is given. It is in these areas that the transferred forces are concentrated during body movement. Analysis of the results shows that the final microstructure consists mainly of coarse columnar grains.
Solving the mesh anisotropy problem in cellular automatic simulations of grain growth. THE INFLUENCE OF SUBSTRATE GRAIN SIZE ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE COMPOSITION "CERAMIC POROUS COATING. The dynamic boundary value problem in the plane strain approximation is solved numerically using a finite difference scheme.
The microstructure of the steel substrate is taken into account in both implicit and explicit ways. In the first case, the mechanical properties of the substrate are considered to be uniform and depend on the average grain size according to the Hall-Petch relationship. Using the hybrid material-spatial approach balances mass, momentum and angle.
For the first formulation of the problem, we investigated the dependence of the kinetic energy on the nonlinearity parameter α. It is found that the decay rate of the kinetic energy fluctuation increases with increasing nonlinearity. An approximation function for the kinetic energy decay law for different values of nonlinearity is obtained.
Secondly, we investigated the dependence of the kinetic temperature on the nonlinearity parameter α. The previously used approximation was used to find the law of decay of the amplitude of the oscillations. The solution of the equation of motion of the β-FPU crystal was derived for the case of small nonlinearity.
Antonio Castellanos Mata Antonio Castellanos Mata was born on March 7, 1947, near León,
His work on wave propagation in powders at low pressure, as well as other lines of research initiated by him, will be continued by his colleagues. As a researcher, Antonio combined a strong theoretical mind, experimental intuition, deep understanding of physics of phenomena and passionate love of science. In 1998 he attended the conference "Advanced Problems in Mechanics" (at the time "Nonlinear Oscillations in Mechanical Systems").
He subsequently became a permanent member of APM's scientific committee and came to the conference many times. Several times Antonio organized a mini-symposium on powders and grains in the context of APM, which attracted many leading scientists and young researchers. He retained his enchanting smile, his interest and love of science, generosity, concern for those around him, fortitude and courage, for which he was admired and loved by his colleagues, friends and family.

Lars Beex graduated BSc, MSc (2008) with honors and PhD (2012, won the Biezeno Award 2013, for the best PhD thesis in the field of Solid Mechanics in the Netherlands in 2012, awarded by the Royal Netherlands Institute of Engineers KIVI NIRIA, included in the top 10 best PhD theses in Engineering in the Netherlands in 2012, according to the Dutch Technology Foundation STW) studies at the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, in Mechanics of Materials under the supervision of Dr. Subsequently, he was a lecturer at Cardiff University's Institute of Mechanics and Advanced Materials where he collaborated with Dr. His PhD studies focused on discrete models for fibrous materials and the quasicontinuum (QC) method as a multiscale approach to improve discrete models.
Since the QC method was previously only used for conservative atomistics, he formulated a new virtual-power-based variant that allows the method to be used for non-conservative discrete models (as required for discrete models for fibrous materials). Fibrous materials are an important area of application for these models, but metal foams and printed metal structures are currently also being investigated. Jan Zeman to extend the virtual-power-based QC method one step further to different QC frameworks.
His two new research topics are stochastic approaches in computational mechanics (including Bayesian inference) and other reduced-order modeling techniques (eg those using proper orthogonal decomposition).
