Radio Slovenia
Since then, Radio Slovenia has grown and developed rapidly and survived many stormy turning points, but since then it has been performing its fundamental functions, such as caring for the Slovenian language, strengthening national independence and unity, and performing informative, educational, entertainment and cultural functions. The second program of Radio Slovenia has established itself as a program intended for information, advice and relaxation. An extremely important part of the Second Program is music, which mainly represents new issues, popular music.
Val 202 broadcasts several broadcasts based on the confrontation of different opinions and an important part is also satirical and other columns and sports. The third program of Radio Slovenia occupies a special place in the output of the national radio program, because it is dedicated to the fields of culture, art, science and education. It is often called the program for gourmets: up to three quarters of the program is taken up by music, especially serious music, ranging from classical music to the latest pieces of music.
The program orientation of Program Art makes it a unique culture-art program in the country that can only be compared to such programs from other EBU members. Broadcast in German and English, Radio Slovenia International is a modern radio program with selected Slovenian, European and world music representing over 85 percent of the program time. The main focus of informative broadcasts is dedicated to current political, economic, cultural and sports events both in Slovenia and abroad.
A fair share of the remaining program content is devoted to the promotion of Slovenia, its natural, cultural and historical landmarks. Radio Maribor realizes the mission of the national broadcaster at the regional level, as it prepares program output for the listeners of northeastern Slovenia. Special attention is devoted to informative broadcasts, but the share of culture-art programs is also becoming more and more important.
It provides a comprehensive reflection of the socio-cultural and historical image of northeastern Slovenia and actively participates in the creation and promotion of culture in the broadest sense. Radio Koper is intended for listeners in Primorska and Slovenians in Italy. It is being prepared in the Koper studio and the Nova Gorica regional studio.
It plays an important role in preserving a common cultural space of the Primorje Slovenes divided by the border. It discusses topics concerning the neighboring relations with Italy and Croatia and plays an important role in the co-creation of the national radio programs.
Programmes for the Hungarian and Italian national communities
The television program for the Italian national community provides an integral and objective information service to the Italian community, for the maintenance and development of its linguistic and cultural independence, and is also an important source of regional and cross-border information at the crossroads of three countries developed in the European project of »ezmejna TV. Radio Capodistria's program is an Italian program primarily intended for the national community in Slovenia and Croatia, but it is also very popular among listeners from Italy. Radio Capodistria's program schedule is largely based on informational broadcasts on the topics of nationality, culture, domestic and foreign politics, tourism and sports.

Music Production and Music Programmes
Big Band RTV Slovenia is one of the oldest bands of its kind in the world, as it has been operating continuously since 1945. Its beginnings are mainly due to the "masterful" Bojan Adamič, who led the orchestra from the beginning of the 1960s. Then Jože Privšek took over the leadership of the orchestra, whose greatest qualities were demonstrated in the field of composition, arrangement and conducting of the orchestra.
He took the dance orchestra, as it was called at the time, to the highest quality class not only in Slovenia, but also across the borders. After Jože Privšek, Lojze Kranjčan took over the orchestra, as well as Petar Ugrin, Milko Lazar, Emil Spruk and others. In addition to numerous awards, the Chamber Choir of RTV Slovenia received the Orpheus plaque, the Society of Slovenian Composers award, and the BBC award for the best performance of contemporary music at the Let the Nations Sing international competition.
The chamber choir RTV Slovenia has been conducted by the most distinguished conductors: Ciril Cvetko, France Marolt, Milko Škoberne, Lojze LebiË, Marko Munih, Jože Fürst, Mirko Cuderman, Tomaž Faganel, Matevž Fabijan, Matjaž ŠËek, Urša Lah i Stojanšet Lah. The choir has recorded a number of perfect recordings for the radio program and performed several acclaimed concerts with foreign conductors. The children's and youth singing choir RTV Slovenia belongs to the top of Slovenian choral performances and received a number of international awards for more than fifty years of their activity.
Their major performances of numerous Slovenian works have made it part of the history of Slovenian musical culture. Choirs are non-profit making, all efforts are made to take care of the creativity and performance of the youth choir, to achieve the highest qualities of the artistic choir, to enrich the national radio archives and to promote the Slovenian musical culture outside the borders of Slovenia. A suggestion to establish both was made by the then editor Janez Bitenc in 1957.
The youth choir was initially led by Janez Kuhar, and then Matevž Fabjan took over the choir for thirty-five years. The youth choir has achieved enviable success at international competitions, winning numerous awards and prizes in recent years. The children's choir made an excellent performance on the stage of the Cankaryev Dome together with the Bolshoi Theater from Moscow in the opera Boris Godunov.

The record company was established to give listeners and viewers the opportunity to access culture-art, educational, informative and entertaining content from RTV Slovenia's archives and the news from its own production via audio-video cassettes, CDs and DVDs. The record company's mission is to preserve and enrich Slovenian culture and language via the published articles and thus contribute to Slovenia's recognition in the EU and the world. In addition to the programs that are planned and published together with the individual radio and TV editorial offices, where part of the sales revenue goes back to the editorial office, we also create and finance our own projects.
They are offered for use to radio stations and televisions as part of RTV Slovenia. Our publications on more permanent sound and image carriers (CD, DVD) contribute to simpler programming in radio and television programmes. We have gone to great lengths to revive and preserve old archival recordings that would otherwise degenerate with age.
Despite the recession and decline in music sales due to mass uncontrolled downloading and transfer of sound and image to cyberspace (piracy), we have 200 sales points all over Slovenia with whom we have long-term sales contracts. In addition to standard sales, we plan to sell larger quantities of audio and video carriers in cooperation with newspaper houses (Delo, Dnevnik, VeËer, Primorske novice, ...) and the publisher Tehniška založba Slovenije (children's programs). A complete catalog of around 1,200 articles is available to customers 24 hours a day on the RTV Slovenia website: www.rtvslo.si/zkpprodaja/.
