Appreciative Socialization Group. A Model of Personal Development

Appreciative Socialization Group. A Model of Personal Development

In this article we want to present o new of form of group, which we consider as being important for the process of personal development. Groups are a form of gathering more people united by a common purpose. We believe that through their group, members can develop new skills and also can obtain the change in the direction they want. Socialization is the process that we “share” along with others, by communicating and also by having close views towards different things in life. Appreciative socialization involves placing emphasis on those elements that have value to us, which are positive. We consider appreciative group socialization as a model of good practice that aims the development among group members and increases empowerment process.

educational process. On the basis of pedagogical conditions, the author created a model of personality-oriented training of bachelors in the technical field. In the proposed model of teaching students for high-tech industries, special attention is paid to the training component that uses modern information and communication technologies since modern applied professional programs are used to service innovative equipment. In addition, the author proposes unique training programs in the Borland Delphi environment designed to solve tasks related to the modeling of various technological processes and operations in high-tech enterprises. These programs provide an interactive mode of research and operational management of the engineering process, as well as allow students to examine production tasks and find optimal solutions to the established tasks and problems.

Criticisms can be made, not only of the way in which the above experiments were performed, but also of the constraints imposed by the accounting multipliers (SAM-based model). This was, however, just a simple example of what can be done with the working tools of the SAM and the SDM. The importance of the informal aspects of the activity of countries varies from country to country; however, such aspects should not be neglected in those countries where the market output and monetary economic activity are increasing, or in countries that are largely dependent on the market but have high rates of unemployment and high levels of taxation and bureaucracy for registered enterprises, such as Portugal. The assessment of the importance of these informal aspects is only possible if they are included in the whole activity of those countries, using, for instance, both a SAM and a SDM. In such a case, the national statistics offices should pay special attention to these aspects, in order to produce meaningful information.

Food Supplement Personal Assistant

Food Supplement Personal Assistant

Nutritional supplements market is increasing worldwide. By 2020, the global market is expected to grow to €160 billion [ 2 ]. It is becoming increasingly simple to access dietary supplements that are expected to improve or prevent various conditions. Many nutritional supplement users obtain them without the consent or recommendation of a medical practitioner, which may be problematic when misused [ 3 ]. Medical assistance regarding nutritional supplementation is still being rejected, however, informing the general public about their supplement intake is still of utmost importance. Additionally, retailers and great supermarkets experience a growing interest in this type of supplements, being interested in tools that can support buyers in their choices.

3. Constructing numerical versions of SAMs from the SNA. An application to Portugal. The latest versions of the SNA have devoted a number of paragraphs to discussing the question of SAMs. The 2008 version mentions SAMs in Section D of Chapter 28, entitled “Input-output and other matrix-based analysis” (ISWGA, 2008: 519-522), in which a matrix representation is presented of the accounts identified and described in the whole SNA. This representation is not to be identified with the SAM presented in this paper, although they both cover all the transactions recorded by those accounts. The SAM that will be presented below results from the work that the author has undertaken within a conceptual framework based on the works of Graham Pyatt and his associates (Pyatt, 1988 and 1991; Pyatt and Roe, 1977; Pyatt and Round, 1985) and from the efforts made to reconcile that framework with what has been defined by (the successive versions of) the SNA (Pyatt, 1985 and 1991a; Round, 2003).

An online survey of personal mosquito- repellent strategies

An online survey of personal mosquito- repellent strategies

Availability, choice, use, and effectiveness of repellents and other mosquito avoidance strategies are also important variables for mathematical models predicting mosquito-borne disease dynamics. The concept of ‘One Heath’ integrates human, animal and environmental health. This multidisciplinary approach is relevant for veterinarians, ecologists, biologists, and others to understand and predict the spread of disease among people, animals, and within the environment ( Destoumieux-Garzón et al., 2018 ). One Health approaches will benefit from solid knowledge on local repellent use, and its efficacy. Thus, knowing how different people in different regions defend themselves against mosquitos, and knowing the efficacy of these methods, can be combined with other data to contribute to disease outbreak predictions ( Benelli & Duggan, 2018 ).

Types of Personal Social Networks of Older Adults in Portugal

Types of Personal Social Networks of Older Adults in Portugal

Although network size does not differ substantially among network types, family and neighbourhood networks are smaller and more cohesive than the rest. In the first case, con- finement to a limited number of relations can be attributed to the limited heterogeneity of relational fields/sectors present in the network, which also occurs in family-dependent networks (Thiyagarajan et al. 2014; Wenger 1989, 1991; Wenger et al. 1996), family inten- sive networks (Litwin 1995a, b), restricted networks (Litwin 2001), encapsulated and affine networks (Portugal 2014), or minimal family networks (Vassilev et al. 2016). In the second case, networks are more heterogeneous but dominated by the relational possibilities offered by neighbour and family-related contexts, which might limit their amplitude depending on the number or availability of neighbours and the size of the family. The high levels of cohesion/density are related to the expected mutual recognition between neighbours and family members. This feature is positively associated with the networks capacity to recog- nize variations in the focal persons’ support needs and with the ability to mobilize support quickly; however, high density levels are also associated with greater social regulation and centripetal functioning, facilitating conformity and promoting passivity, which may hinder the necessary changes when facing new circumstances and limit openness to new relation- ships (Guadalupe 2016; Sluzki 1996).

In the latter proposed time, participants interacted more effectively, showing interest in the topics covered, as well as bringing questions and sharing their experiences. It stands out the speech of a participant during the dis- cussions realized the importance of respecting and been elected to contemplate a beautiful sunny day, taking the opportunity to ride a bike or even take a mate instead of organizing materials to be used in the future in their classes, i.e, time management and organization allied to health and well-being. “Give some time to yourself,” once participants realize that much of their time is allocated and dedicated only to work, even when they are al- ready in their homes with their families.

With or without the proposed structures, when the activity of countries has to be studied, the empirical work of measurement and modelling, the matrix format and the use of the national and demographic accounts are all recommended. Those accounts can be considered as a starting point for the use of other sources of information and for the inclusion of other dimensions. In order to do this, in the case of the national accounts, it would be convenient if the compilers of countries were to give the same importance to the institutional accounts as they give to the production accounts. It would also be convenient if they made the results of their work and the methodological details underlying their work available, namely the “from whom to whom” matrices and the manuals about sources and methodologies, in order to enable their free use and evaluation by potential users (international organisations, students, researchers, etc.). The last recommendation could also be extended to the demographic accounts. This would certainly be a contribution towards developing our knowledge of the activity of countries, especially where there are problems of poverty and inequalities in the distribution of income, with the consequent need for special attention to be paid to the households. This proposal is intended to contribute towards a more detailed and complete study of the activity of countries, with greater knowledge being provided about the whole and the corresponding interactions of its parts. This will allow for subsequent interventions to be carried out in relation to the parts while remaining aware of the impacts that this will have on the whole.

As will be seen in Chapter 2, the SAM is a square matrix, in which the sum of the rows is equal to the corresponding sum of the columns. These rows and columns represent, respectively, the inflows and outflows of accounts in which production and institutions are worked together at a level of detail that depends on the corresponding disaggregation, extension, and complements [namely, the Input- Output Matrix (IOM)]. Thus, more or less complex networks of linkages of flows with different intensities can be constructed for specific periods and geographical areas, as will be seen in Chapter 3. Structural features of the underlying activity of that network of linkages can be evidenced, and the associated multiplier effects can be studied, as will be seen in Chapters 4 and 5, respectively. Chapters 2 and 3 will show that with the SAM, the value of production and the associated costs as well as the demand and supply of goods and services can be worked together with various types of income, namely, generated, disposable, and accumulated income. This work, which involves production and institutions and a matrix format when based in a numerical version of a SAM, enables an empirical description of the origin, use, and distribution of this income, as will be shown in Chapter 4. In Chapter 5, an algebraic version will be used to illustrate a possible deeper study of the institutional distribution of income, using some of the potentialities of the SAM.

To this day, we witness moments in which his students will call or visit him at home, sometimes in despair about their masters or doctorate theses, at the oddest times. They ask for his advice, sometimes cry and often want to give up. With doors always open, Ubiratan receives them in his library and is able to encourage and motivate each of them. Invariably, he leads each student to rediscover the grandiosity of his or her idea and to re- ignite the passion that first motivated their thesis, putting them back on track in search of their dream.

The evaluation of outcomes in C-L psychiatry has been difficult. In fact, C-L psychiatry's interventions cannot be studied independently because of both the multiplicity of its interventions and the presence of concurrent factors that also influence the outcomes. As outlined by Fossey and Parsonage in their report “Outcomes and performance in liaison psychiatry ” [30], the different C-L psychiatry interventions are difficult to compare as the work of a liaison psychiatry team operating 24 hours a day in the emergency department of a large acute hospital and another one providing psychological treatment in outpatient clinics for patients with medically unexplained symptoms and related syndromes during office hours have relatively little in common.

PHR - Personal Health Records

PHR - Personal Health Records

A custom plastic head holder was constructed to support the skulls during imaging and fitted with a laser arker, a ordi g to the a ufa turer’s i stru tio s. To e sure a detailed 3D representation of the occlusal morphology of the maxillary dentition the skulls were also scanned without the mandible present. CBCT scans were acquired with a Galileo Compact system (©Sirona Dental Systems GmbH, Germany). The scanning time was approximately 14 seconds and 200 single exposures were performed for each skull with a 3D resolution (isotropic voxel size) of 0.3 mm and 15 cm diameter  15 cm height field of view using Sidexis XG acquisition software (©Sirona Dental System GmbH, Germany). Exposure parameters were controlled by automatic exposure control. CBCT data was then exported from the Sidexis XG software in Dicom multi-file format and imported into Maxilim® software (version 2.3.0.3, Medicim®, Belgium). 3D surface models were obtained usi g the software’s automatic thresholding for hard tissue type models and reevaluated by a single calibrated operator on the basis of the following criteria: quality of the 3D morphology, and the presence of relevant skeletal structures.

Mediating the voice of personal blogging: an analysis of Chinese A-list personal blogs

Mediating the voice of personal blogging: an analysis of Chinese A-list personal blogs

These conceptions, that voice is evaluative, performative, and socio-culturally constructed and enacted, have particular relevance to understanding the personal blog as a new form of ‘writing’ that plays a critical role in constructing the dynamics between a blog author (single or plural) and the audience, between an individual and a community, and between the personal and the public (Miller & Shepherd, 2009). They may, in terms of social recognition and action (Barry, 2006; Lin, 2001), provide an explanation as to why some personal blogs can stand out as A-list blogs with a large viewership that may also have an extensive influence on public opinions, behaviours, and events, while others are less attractive and forgotten. Therefore, voice of personal blogs creates a lens through which the discourse as well social actions and consequences of personal blogging can be explored and construed. Above all, personal blogs are not simply individual texts devoid of purposeful connections and relations, but are instances and components of particular social text and discourse that, under specific circumstances, may cause significant social changes and actions.
