CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL

RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE INDEPENDENT REMUNERATION PANEL LOCAL AUTHORITIES (MEMBERS’ ALLOWANCES) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2003

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has received a report from its Independent Remuneration Panel making recommendations about its Members’

Allowances Scheme. Copies of the report are available for inspection by members of the public at the Main Reception at City Hall, Centenary Square, Bradford BD1 1HY between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays.

The Council will supply a copy of the report to any person who requests a copy.

The Independent Remuneration Panel’s recommendations are that the Special Responsibility Allowance payable to Executive Assistants should be 30% of the Special Responsibility Allowance payable to the Leader of the Council, with effect from the December 2016 Meeting of the Council and that the allowance should be reviewed in two years’ time. The Panel also recommended that the Allowances payable to Councillors should be uprated annually for two years in line with the pay increase negotiated for Local Government Employees and any updating of travel and subsistence allowances, the matter to be reviewed again in October 2018.
