Este estudo permitiu verificar a presença dos sorotipos 1/2a, 4b, 1/2c e 1/2b de isolados de L. monocytogenes de diferentes fontes, tais como cortes comerciais de carne bovina, amostras de salsicha tipo hot dog, amostras de carcaças de frangos resfriados, amostra de carne mecanicamente separada de aves, e também cepas isoladas de swabs de ambiente de

indústria de abatedouro frigorifico de aves. O sequenciamento do gene da inlA dos isolados

demonstrou a presença de stop codons prematuros que foi verificado em cinco isolados de L. monocytogenes. Os testes de adesão e invasão em Caco-2 demonstraram que todos os isolados apresentaram capacidade de adesão e invasão celular. Na capacidade de adesão não houve diferença quando comparados entre si os isolados com e sem stop codons prematuros. Nos isolados que apresentaram stop codons prematuros a capacidade de invasão foi significativamente maior em relação aos isolados que não apresentaram a mutação. Os resultados destacam o risco potencial de L. monocytogenes a Saúde Pública e podem servir como base de estudos futuros para avaliar outros fatores envolvidos na virulência de L. monocytogenes.
