Diante dos resultados obtidos neste estudo, pode-se concluir que o OE apresenta relevante atividade anticâncer in vitro e in vivo, sendo que os mecanismos implicados nos seus efeitos citotóxicos incluem a interrupção do ciclo celular na fase G1 e a indução de morte

celular por apoptose, com participação da ativação de caspases.
