O aumento da concentração de ácido bórico favorece o aumento da viscosidade aparente das soluções aquosas que contêm microgéis de HPG, porém, o envelhecimento térmico, dependendo da temperatura empregada, pode favorecer a formação das ligações cruzadas ou a quebra das mesmas, propiciando o aumento ou a diminuição, respectivamente, da viscosidade do sistema.

A partir de 70 oC, foi observada uma redução mais significativa de viscosidade aparente das soluções contendo microgéis de HPG, que foi atribuída à desestruturação da rede do microgel por diminuição da concentração de íons borato no meio, gerando perdas de viscosidade.

A 25 oC, a adição de microgéis de HPG ao fluido de perfuração favoreceu o aumento da viscosidade aparente e a redução do volume de filtrado, em comparação ao fluido base selecionado (Fo). Entretanto, o envelhecimento térmico claramente penaliza as propriedades

do fluido contendo microgéis de HPG, provavelmente, pela redução da concentração de íons borato no meio, que reduz o número de ligações cruzadas, e a alta salinidade do fluido, que pode reduzir a hidratação dos microgéis no meio, diminuindo a viscosidade.

A partir dos resultados gerais obtidos neste trabalho, pode-se concluir que o emprego de microgéis em fluidos de perfuração aquosos pode ser uma alternativa promissora, desde que o agente reticulante seja adequadamente selecionado, ou seja, não sofra desativação com o aumento da temperatura e não seja influenciado pela salinidade do meio.
