De acordo com a revisão scoping de literatura, concluiu-se que:
- A sugestão da teia de determinantes foi apresentada sob o conceito dos sistemas complexos e confirmada pela literatura que aborda o traumatismo orofacial no esporte.
- Os fatores sugeridos neste trabalho foram citados e confirmados pela literatura como contribuintes ao TOF no esporte, em frequências e relevâncias diferentes. A modalidade esportiva foi o fator mais citado pela literatura e as condições ambientais, o menos citado.
- Tão importante quanto estabelecer os determinantes é entender como eles se relacionam, uma vez que as estratégias preventivas devem interceder sobre estas relações para mitigar os traumatismos orofaciais no esporte.
