DISPERSÃO SECUNDÁRIA DE SEMENTES DE SIPARUNA GUIANENSIS (SIPARUNACEAE) POR FORMIGAS EM VEGETAÇÃO DE CERRADO

CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS

Este trabalho confirma a alta frequência de interações entre formigas e diásporos carnosos no solo do Cerrado. A dispersão secundária direcionada dos diásporos de S.

guianensis por formigas a diferentes distâncias e densidades rearranjam as sementes numa

escala espacial mais fina, afetando o estabelecimento e desenvolvimento de plântulas no cerrado, como já evidenciado para outras espécies (veja Leal & Oliveira 1998; Christianini & Oliveira 2009, 2010, 2013). Assim, mesmo que em escalas menores (Horvitz & Le Corff 1981), as formigas têm um papel relevante no rearranjo espacial de sementes e no

recrutamento de plântulas em microsítios mais favoráveis (formigueiros) ao seu crescimento, mediando o ciclo populacional de plantas e consequentemente o processo regenerativo na comunidade do Cerrado.
