O presente estudo é um passo preliminar na investigação sobro os caminhos neurais subservindo o movimento ocular em sagui (Callithrix jachus), primata do Novo Mundo em que a anatomia dos núcleos envolvidos é similar a de outros macacos, representando assim, um sujeito experimental interessante para nosso estudo e objetivos. Os estudos sobre projeções retinianas possibilita uma melhor visualização dos terminais axonais e um pouco sobre seu trajeto. Além disso, estudar as diferenças entre os botões é importante para entender a fisiologia da integração multissensória. Demonstrando assim a importância que se conheça anatômica e fisiologicamente essas estruturas. Muito interesse tem sido demonstrado na via neuro-anatômica envolvendo o controle dos movimentos dos olhos

Neste trabalho conseguimos concluir todos os objetivos propostos e desta forma, temos uma ferramenta importante que pode nos servir com base para trabalhos futuros em que se deve fazer uma identificação neuroquímica das estruturas aqui estudas.
