› A educação dos pacientes sobre o tratamento é fator facilitador da adesão: deve-se adaptar o discurso da equipe técnica aos padrões de entendimento e interpretação do paciente;
› É necessária uma cuidadosa avaliação pré-tratamento de condições clínicas, psiquiátricas e sociais;
› Para avaliar a adesão, recomenda-se a utilização de técnicas diversificadas e adaptadas às necessidades de cada usuário. A avaliação da adesão cabe a todos os profissionais envolvidos no cuidado.
18 INTERRUPÇÃO DO TRATAMENTO
O tratamento deverá ser interrompido, independentemente do esquema terapêutico, nas seguintes situações:
› Ocorrência de eventos adversos importantes;
› Ausência de adesão ao tratamento;
› Identificação de situação que contraindique o tratamento (ex.: gestação, arritmias cardíacas);
› Identificação de situação que demande substituição do tratamento (ex.: insuficiência hepática, diagnóstico de coinfecção HIV/HCV).
