5.3. Limitações e futuras investigações

O modelo apresentado não pretendeu explicar toda a realidade. Com efeito, foram tomadas opções relativamente às variáveis independentes e à dependente. Por exemplo, relativamente a esta última seria interessante estudar as implicações na performance financeira ou económica das empresas. Outras variáveis independentes poderiam ter sido consideradas como é o caso da capacidade de exportação, a planificação estratégica e de marketing ou a capacidade de organização da própria empresa. Sabemos não empiricamente que estes aspetos são apontados como lacunas nas empresas portuguesas e seria interessante trazer evidências nestes campos.

Outro aspeto interessante a ter em consideração em futuras investigações prende-se com uma análise mais apurada por setor de atividade. Os efeitos aqui testados poderão ser significativamente distintos para diferentes setores.

Uma última questão relacionada com a amostra. Apesar de se ter conseguido um número razoável de respostas, não deixa de haver limitações relativamente à generalização dos resultados. Em futuras investigações sugere-se testar o modelo em amostras maiores.
