4.3 Limitações e Recomendações de Pesquisas Futuras

A pesquisa foi de natureza exploratória. A análise das variáveis coprodução, expertise e criação de valor no contexto B2B, ocorreu a partir da perspectiva de entrevistados num tipo específico de serviço intensivo em conhecimento e essa limitação afeta a generalização dos resultados. Portanto, um passo importante para pesquisas futuras é testar as proposições sugeridas e examinar a relação entre as variáveis do modelo por meio de survey com fornecedores e seus clientes de tipos diferentes de serviços intensivos em conhecimento. Sugere-se também analisar em pesquisas futuras, se a interação entre cliente e fornecedor varia em função do valor estratégico que o cliente atribuiu ao serviço contratado.

Consistente com pesquisas recentes que consideram o relacionamento interpessoal entre cliente e fornecedor como fator crítico à coprodução (Wang et al., 2015; Guo & Ng, 2011) e por considerar a influência que os agentes representantes dos fornecedores e clientes, boundary spanners têm na relação entre as variáveis expertise e coprodução; sugere-se também como pesquisa futura a investigação do efeito moderador (Baron & Kenny, 1986; Vieira, 2009) das habilidades do agentes de contato, como no modelo proposto.
