Apesar desse modelo apresentar resultados úteis no âmbito organizacional, este estudo apresenta algumas limitações. A primeira limitação está relacionada com os cenários hipotéticos. A ausência de um líder real pode ter contribuído para a fragilidade dos dados no que tange a confiança na liderança. Adicionalmente, a tarefa dentro do contexto organizacional poderia ter sido executada com menos ou mais performance, visto que o comportamento organizacional é mais complexo.

Além disso, embora a Plataforma Mturk disponha de um acesso para pessoas dispostas a contribuírem com o trabalho, tal disposição está relacionada com o valor recebido pela participação. Assim, pode ser que os respondentes tenham contestado de forma rápida, sem a devida atenção, objetivando o pagamento por sua participação, podendo limitar a qualidade nas respostas.

Pelo exposto, sugere-se, portanto, que o modelo deste experimento seja realizado em ambientes organizacionais, com execução de tarefas reais, imersas em contextos organizacionais reais, e, evidentemente, relações reais entre líderes e liderados. Desta forma, a replicação deste modelo em um ambiente organizacional validaria ainda mais os resultados encontrados.
