No decurso do estudo foram detetadas algumas limitações que considero importantes levar em conta em futuras linhas de pesquisa. Numa primeira análise, a pouca informação relativamente às acessibilidades externas aos estádios reforçam a necessidade de confirmar as variáveis encontradas em futuras pesquisas a efetuar sobre esta temática no nosso país e/ou no estrangeiro.

Em segundo lugar, ainda que este estudo se tenha debruçado mais na perceção de qualidade das acessibilidades, a importância destas variáveis para as organizações e estádios justificam uma análise mais abrangente que contemple outros fatores e permita explicar melhor a variância dessas sensações.

No mesmo sentido, importa também salientar que foi analisado apenas a perceção de qualidade das acessibilidades de um estádio durante sete jogos do Campeonato do Mundo 2014, e não o comportamento em vários estádios, aspeto que deve ser considerado futuramente.

Além dos aspetos mencionados, considero fundamental dar continuidade e estender o conhecimento produzido neste estudo, pelo que deixo um conjunto de sugestões para futuras pesquisas:

(i) Acrescentar a atividade profissional dos espetadores na caracterização sociodemográfica, para detetar a classe sócio-económica, bem como investigar outras variáveis que permitam inferir sobre o estilo de vida dos espetadores desportivos, nomeadamente no Brasil.

(ii) Diversificar a investigação sobre os espetadores desportivos em Portugal e no estrangeiro, utilizando uma escala que permita comparar os seus comportamentos em várias modalidades e níveis de competição.

(iii) Caracterizar sustentadamente a rede de acessibilidades inerente aos estádio, bem como as restantes variáveis em estudo, como são os casos dos acessos existentes, do estacionamento do estádio, a sinalização nas estradas, bem como o sentimento da experiência vivida.

(iv) Aprofundar a análise dos espetadores de futebol e desenvolver modelos explicativos dos processos que levam à fidelização aos jogos.
