CP1- História dos marginais na historiografia europeia e portuguesa. CP2- Conceitos: «marginalidade» e «controlo social».
CP3- Aspectos da marginalidade e do controlo social na Europa medieval e moderna.
CP4- A nova ordem social e legal: a construção da marginalidade nas sociedades liberais, burguesas e capitalistas.
Urbanização e industrialização: a cidade como espaço da marginalidade. «Classes trabalhadoras» / «classes perigosas».
CP5- Actores e grupos marginais:
Os criminosos; os pobres; os vadios ou/e vagabundos; as prostitutas. Outros (imigrantes, desempregados, negros, ciganos, loucos, contestatários?).

PC3- Aspects of marginality and social control in medieval and early modern Europe.
PC4- The new social and legal order: the construction of marginality in bourgeois, capitalist and liberal societies.
Urbanization and industrialization: the city as a space of marginality. «Working Classes» / «Dangerous Classes».
PC5- Actors and marginal groups:
The criminals, the poor, the vagrants or / and vagabonds; prostitutes. Others: immigrants, unemployed people, blacks, gypsies, freaks, contesting people.
PC6- Banditism and criminality in rural areas
PC7- Formal and informal mechanisms of social control: Police, Criminal Law and local regulations; Courts; Prisons. Others: family, media, school, church, charitable, military institution.

6.2.1.7. Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída):
A UC está estruturada em 2 tipos de aulas: as aulas teóricas apresentam conteúdos e conceitos e introduzem os principais debates. As aulas teórico-práticas consistem na discussão de estudos ou fontes históricas e na apresentação dos trabalhos individuais realizados pelos estudantes.
Avaliação - Duas modalidades: 1. Avaliação periódica;
2. Exame final. 1. Avaliação periódica
a)Preparação e participação individual nas aulas práticas. Ponderação: 10% da nota final
b) Apresentação oral de um livro realizada em sala de aula (40%) Ponderação: 40% da nota final.
c) Teste escrito, individual. Ponderação: 50% da nota final. 2. Exame final
O exame final contempla toda a matéria do programa.
6.2.1.7. Teaching methodologies (including evaluation):
This CU is divided into two types of classes: the theoretical lessons will present content and introduce the main concepts and debates. In theoretic-practical lessons students will discuss studies or historical sources, and present an individual work.
Evaluation - Two modes: 1. Periodic assessment 2. Final exam.
1. Periodic Assessment
a) Preparation and participation in classes. Weighting: 10% of the final
b) Oral presentation of a book during the classes. Weighting: 40% of the final grade. c) Written test. Weighting: 50% of final grade.
2. Final exam: the final examination, with written test and possibly oral, includes all the matter of the program, based on the literature given by the teacher.
6.2.1.8. Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino com os objectivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular.
As actividades de ensino-aprendizagem são variadas com o objectivo de treinar um conjunto de
competências científicas, sociais e pessoais, nomeadamente: a leitura da bibliografia de forma analítica e crítica; a escrita e explanação oral; o acesso às várias fontes de investigação; a imaginação e criatividade; a discussão; a capacidade de trabalhar com as noções de marginalidade e controle social adequadas às realidades concretas. A compreensão das múltiplas abordagens e análises já realizadas no campo da História e as metodologias de investigação utilizadas serão objecto de avaliação no teste final.
6.2.1.8. Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes.
The teaching-learning activities are varied in order to train a set of scientific, social and personal skills, including: reading the literature analytically and critically, written and oral explanation, access to various sources of research, imagination and creativity, discussion, ability to work with notions of marginality and social control appropriate to the concrete realities. Understanding the multiple historical approaches and their own research methodologies, will therefore be assessed in the final test.
