2. Perspetivas futuras
Terminando a apresentação deste trabalho, será exposto um conjunto de propostas no domínio da investigação, no sentido de se compreender melhor as relações entre os diversos fatores que influenciam a situação deste estudo:
Desenvolver este tipo de investigações que estudem os efeitos da evolução da idade, a sua relação com a capacidade para o trabalho e os fatores de risco psicossociais, garantindo uma base de comparação a futuros estudos nesta área.
Realizar estudos longitudinais que avaliem a evolução da relação entre a idade e a capacidade para o trabalho, assim como a influência de outras variáveis nesta relação.

Concretizar estudos longitudinais que avaliem os fatores de risco psicossociais e a sua relação com fatores sócio demográficos.
Aprofundar o conhecimento da relação entre a capacidade para o trabalho e os fatores de risco psicossociais presentes no contexto de trabalho.
Desenvolver uma base de dados que possa aglomerar todos os estudos em que foram utilizados tanto o ICT como o COPSOQ, permitindo e facilitando a partilha de informação entre investigadores.
A continuação destes estudos junto de outros sectores profissionais, aqui não abordados, para que se possa em futuros trabalhos desenvolvidos nesta área garantir a representatividade da amostra em relação à população dos trabalhadores portugueses.
