4.5 Recomendações às Empresas
Para que as empresas possam acompanhar a constante evolução dos mercados, é bastante importante que estas melhorem ou alterem as suas práticas, produtos e serviços. Para as empresas terem sucesso, precisam de satisfazer cada vez mais e melhor as necessidades e desejos dos seus clientes. Para tal devem contar com o apoio crucial dos seus colaboradores, que muitas das vezes são a cara da empresa. Já se verificou que os colaboradores que têm um grau mais elevado de inteligência emocional, empenhamento afetivo e orientação para o cliente, são colaboradores mais produtivos, eficazes e que proporcionam maior sucesso e maior lucro às empresas. É essencial que os gestores das empresas analisem todos esses parâmetros aquando do recrutamento de um futuro colaborador. Para isso deveriam adotar medidas de recrutamento, com base em sistemas de análise emocional.
Quando as empresas estabelecem objetivos acima do que é possível atingir e violam os valores supostamente implícitos dos colaboradores, estas empresas acabam por sofrer emocionalmente, isto é, os colaboradores acabam por ter sentimentos de culpa, por não atingirem os objetivos, e uma sensação de falsa recompensa, caso sejam recompensados mesmo que não atinjam os objetivos estabelecidos. Uma empresa emocionalmente inteligente deve estabelecer objetivos de acordo com a sua realidade, e de acordo com cada colaborador em particular, de forma a que os colaboradores se sintam motivados (Goleman, 2012b). Uma empresa emocionalmente inteligente consegue aumentar o desempenho dos seus colaboradores tomando algumas medidas, como por exemplo:
- Atribuindo trabalho num tempo exequível, para que os colaboradores consigam atingir os objetivos estabelecidos, sentindo-se mais motivados e terem tempo para recuperarem;
- Dando autonomia aos colaboradores, para que estes tenham oportunidade de melhorar a forma como se trabalha na empresa, sentirem-se úteis e que têm capacidades;
- Haver justiça e igualdade na forma como os colaboradores são tratados. Caso contrário, estes sentem-se revoltados e perdem o entusiasmo;
- Valorizar os bons resultados alcançados pelos colaboradores, mesmo que seja apenas dando uma felicitação calorosa. Estes vão sentir-se mais valorizados e bem emocionalmente. As empresas são mais competitivas e têm um maior desempenho, consoante as relações entre os colaboradores. Se as pessoas não conseguem trabalhar juntas e lhes faltar competências
51 emocionais, toda a empresa vai sofrer as consequências disso. É portanto necessário maximizar a inteligência emocional de todos, em conjunto (Goleman, 2012b).
