3. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO

3.4 RELAÇÃO CUSTO/BENEFÍCIO DA APLICAÇÃO DE ZN

Referente ao aspecto econômico, os cultivares CD 150 e BRS Guamirim apresentaram relação custo/benefício variável dependendo dos tratamentos (Zn-S, Zn-F e Zn-S+F). Para o cultivar CD 150, a cada real investido, o retorno variou de + 2,90 a - 1,47 R$/ha e para o cultivar BRS Guamirim, o retorno variou de + 0,92 a -1,30 R$/ha (Tabela 12).

Variações negativas poderiam ser diminuídas em condições de deficiência de Zn, uma vez que a resposta à aplicação do elemento seria maior, refletindo em maiores excedentes produtivos e alcançando assim o ponto de equilíbrio. No presente trabalho, a produtividade de grãos para atingir o ponto de equilíbrio seria: 152 kg ha-1, 62 kg ha-1 e 214 kg ha-1, para cobrir os gastos com as aplicações Zn-S, Zn-F e Zn-S+F, respectivamente (Tabela 12). É importante destacar, que condições de deficiência no solo são comuns em países em desenvolvimento, como: Índia e África, nos quais verifica-se os maiores índice de deficiência nutricional (Graham et al., 2001). Nestas condições há maior viabilidade imediata da prática de adubação visando a biofortificação, resultando em maiores rendimentos e maiores concentrações de nutrientes nos grãos. Nas condições de cultivo do Brasil, geralmente os solos apresentam-se com fertilidade construída e, desta forma, a aplicação de Zn normalmente não aumentará a produtividade (Tabelas 3 e 7), fazendo apenas aumentar a concentração de Zn nos grãos (Tabelas 4 e 8).

Nesse contexto, outras intervenções poderiam ser utilizadas para tornar a prática de adubação com micronutrientes um dos focos para qualidade nutricional dos produtos. Pode-se citar algumas medidas: 1) Melhoramento genético vegetal voltado para obtenção de cultivares responsivos a adubação e que conciliam altos rendimentos e concentração de nutrientes nos grãos; 2) Incentivos governamentais, com políticas de subsídios para produtos alimentícios de melhor qualidade nutricional, colaborando assim para maior utilização de cultivares biofortificados; 3) Participação da indústria do trigo, premiando/pagando mais por grãos com melhor qualidade nutricional.

53 4. CONCLUSÕES

A aplicação de Zn em solos de fertilidade construída influencia no estado nutricional das plantas de trigo, aumentando a concentração de Zn nas folhas e nos grãos. Ocorrem poucas mudanças no estado nutricional e teores nos grãos em relação aos demais nutrientes;

Em solos com teores de Zn acima do nível crítico, a aplicação de Zn tem pouca influência na produtividade. Por outro lado, variações nos ambientes de cultivo e manejo causam maiores alterações na produtividade do trigo;

O método de aplicação de Zn no solo conciliado com a aplicação foliar (Zn-S+F) é mais efetivo no aumento das concentrações de Zn nos grãos;

Há relação inversa entre produtividade e concentração de Zn nos grãos e, nas condições estudadas, o cultivar comercial associou-se aos maiores rendimentos, enquanto o cultivar com potencial para biofortificação apresenta maior concentração de Zn nos grãos;

A concentração de Zn nos grãos correlaciona-se positivamente com número de afilho, concentrações de Fe e proteína nos grãos;

Características do ambiente de produção determinam a expressão do potencial produtivo e, consequentemente, também afetam a concentração de Zn nos grãos. Os cultivares comerciais sofrem maiores alterações nas concentrações de Zn nos grãos em relação a um cultivar com potencial para biofortificação;

A seleção de um cultivar com potencial para biofortificação e que apresenta bom potencial produtivo, quando associada estratégias de aplicação de Zn, se mostrou a melhor opção para biofortificação agronômica do trigo.
