6.3 Trabalhos futuros

Uma proposta para trabalho futuro seria o refinamento do protótipo implementado, caracterizando mais especificamente parâmetros do EDGE, tornando assim o protótipo mais robusto.

Aliada a essa expansão do protótipo pode-se implementar as etapas restantes da transmissão de dados, caracterizando também a direção do uplink, adicionando dados de controle/sinalização, além dos dados efetivos do usuário, dentre outros aspectos como:

! Controle de admissão: estudo e análise do mecanismo de controle de admissão para os timeslots, trabalhando, por exemplo, com prioridades para tipos de dados ou de usuários;

! GERAN x 3G: estudo e análise efetuando comparações da 2ª Fase do EDGE, através da utilização da GERAN, com outros serviços considerados da terceira geração, como por exemplo, o UMTS;

! Iteração com protocolos como TCP/IP: neste trabalho, o protótipo avaliou a transmissão de dados efetivos do usuário, sendo assim, considerado interessante o estudo de transmissão de dados, associado a outros protocolos, principalmente o TCP/IP, por ser protocolo padrão da Internet, e este por sua vez, ser um dos alvos da telefonia móvel de terceira geração. Além da iteração com o TCP/IP, estudo e análise da implicação do atraso no protocolo TCP;

! Modelo de erros: é válido ressaltar que na literatura, o modelo de erros para as transmissões de dados no EGPRS, encontra-se baseado em [WIG1996] [WIG1998], referências essas que infelizmente não foram obtidas para este trabalho, este modelo deve ser considerado elaboração num trabalho futuro.

! Modelo de mobilidade: neste trabalho considerou-se apenas uma célula, portanto, considera-se interessante o estudo do sistema com a inclusão de novas células, fazendo uso de modelos de mobilidade, levando em consideração, por exemplo, problemas de handoff, perfis de usuário, horário da utilização, dentre outros;

! Novos parâmetros para análise: neste trabalho, o protótipo analisa apenas o atraso e a utilização dos timeslots, sendo interessante a inclusão de novos parâmetros para análise, como por exemplo, jitter, vazão de dados obtida com os esquemas de

codificação, parâmetros de QoS, ou ainda parâmetros relacionados com as técnicas de qualidade de link, LA e IR, como por exemplo C/I;

! Suporte a múltiplos usuários: percebeu-se neste trabalho que talvez o custo/benefício da utilização das alocações através de vários timeslots não seja válido, devido ao aumento causado nos atrasos para as mesmas, porém, passa a ser interessante o estudo e a análise de transmissões com múltiplos usuários por timeslots, na tentativa de se obter um melhor aproveitamento da capacidade do sistema;

! Utilização de novos modelos de tráfego: observou-se neste trabalho que o modelo de tráfego de dados influencia no desempenho do sistema, sendo interessante o estudo e a análise de novos modelos de tráfego de dados, priorizando modelos considerados da terceira geração, como é o caso de tráfego misto (voz e dados) ou tráfego de informações em tempo real;
