We are pleased to send you the report on the wood analysis of the
Tanzanian mask that you consigned to the laboratory for Wood Biology for identification.
A small fragment allowed producing a thin longitudinal tangential and a transversal section.
The examination of the wood anatomical features and comparison with scientific reference material showed that the wood is from the botanical species Lannea schimperi (growing in the eastern parts of Central-Africa) from the family of the Anacardiaceae.
