ABSTRACT

Very few works had been developed in Brazil, dealing with Free-Space Optics (FSO). ln this arrangement, a laser beam carries information for a short range, up to 5 km, avoiding the use of optical fiber. FSO is a rapidly-improved solution and very economical, specifically in urban areas. ln this work, wanted to show the importance of FSO. The main objective is to present a study on the diverse parameters and beddings that define the functioning of the systems of optic cômmunication in the free space - Free Space Optics (FSO). It is important, in this text, to determine and to evaluate the viability of the implementation of true unions, as well as guaranteeing the necessity, the capacity and the requested quality for the customer. On the other hand, it union also must offer it to a good communication front to the diverse adverse atmospherft! conditions. The propagation of a beam of light in the atmosphere always was dealt with interest by scientific community. ln the case of the laser, the impact that this technology would have in the transference of data in high taxes and its current commercial application for diverse types of customers always was interest reason. An immediate objective would be then to use this technology in the implementation of avideo monitoring by IP.
